thanks!
archive.today and archive.ph (also .is, .md, .fo, .li, .vn) are DDOSing a blogger (pic) who investigated them. They could also be Russian assets (js from mail[.]ru).

thanks!

Ah, so it’s your blog. Thanks for acknowledging that these are indeed just your thoughts right now.
But - maybe you can see it from the comments: people take it further and next thing you know they post “GDPR made Fediverse illegal” or some such bullshit.
That’s the power of publication. Not necessarily a good thing.

The author thinks that this ruling could affect Federation:
This is an uhhh, slight bit of a problem, when European legal rulings make it very unclear if federation itself is in compliance with GDPR.
AFAICS that’s as far as their argument goes.

and now both halves of the fediverse are unlawful in the EU.
The last part is a suspicion the author has, not legal fact. Please do not help create rumors.

Or just live near one.

Agreed. What I meant is the target group: they probably love the idea that this is offensive and inhuman.
It’s also bullshit. A lie, a boundless exaggeration.
edit: “piss people off and generate engagement”, see @ambitiousprocess@piefed.social’s comment.

Ragebait. It’ll sell like hot cakes.

Had to click because of the thumbnail, it looks disgusting and creepy
Much more likely that m.youtube.com (which I believe is what SmartTube uses?) has found a way to start passing on ads.
How could that happen without anyone implementing that into the app? At least it sounds like that’s what you’re arguing.

My even older laptop ran like this for many years and the battery never swelled. It couldn’t hold a proper charge, but I always saw it as cheap surge and microblackout protection.

+ millions of years
Thanks (subscribed).
Because this is c/fediverse? Because OP tagged their post #federated?
I’m a bit unclear about how this federates. Shouldn’t there be a c/unfinishedprojects?

Thanks.
for a couple of minutes
This is clearly the crucial part. I take them out much too soon.

Fuck. Off.

After, put the eggs in cold water so they stop cooking.
You mean a separate container (large enough to hold plenty cold water I presume)? How long? How cold? Icy, so it hurts your hand, or just not warm, not even lukewarm?
I struggle to get consistent results with this method, but I don’t always put the eggs in when the water already boils.
The US legal system is precedent based. Is EU law also precedent based? I don’t think so. In other words, while still being a precedent, this ruling doesn’t have quite the same power as it would have in a predent-based legal system.
