It depends on how important your data is to you. Me personally, I just run a jellyfin server with dubiously acquired tv shows and movies. Which is to say that if I lost everything in a catastrophic failure, I wouldn’t much care, so I decided to get a refurbished 14tb USB connected external HDD.
If you run anything more important, you should listen to others who might have a more robust solution

So, I have no idea how purchasing a show or movie (to own) digitally works, but I would think that at least you wouldn’t have to worry about a server being taken down and not being able to access the movie, and I’m 100% certain that it’s not a problem when you have a physical disk. The thing is, most media isn’t being watched this way. It’s watched on Netflix or any other streaming service where you aren’t actually paying for a movie itself, which is why it’s okay for them to delist it and you not be able to watch it anymore.

The IRM command in PowerShell downloads a script from a specified URL, and the IEX command executes it.
Always double-check the URL before executing the command and verify the source if manually downloading files.
Be cautious, as some spread malware disguised as MAS by using different URLs in the IRM command
