This may just be a me thing, but GrapheneOS works fine on my pixel 6a. Biggest problem is a few other privacy apps I keep installing and sometimes doing abnormal more private niche things only graphene can do anyway.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Why GrapheneOS is Almost Impossible to Crack (Forensic Teams Have Tried)
61·4 months agoYou have to install GrapheneOS’ Google Play (sandboxed) and services for banking and government apps. And you can install Google Play with stock Graphene, it is very easy.

6·4 months agoI see where your coming from but not everyone has the space to seed a torrent. I think those that use stremio and understand torrenting will one day, if they have enough storage contribute to seeding. I’m running on 256gb here T-T

171·4 months agoCancel all subscriptions which are just “We own the copyright to music, tv, movies etc” and find your digital art through simple file sharing networks on the internet. FOR EXAMPLE:
Stremio + Torrentio + Real Debrid (If you don’t want to pay for real debrid it still works just can be a bit slower) A torrent streaming solution for most/all tv shows and movies. Soulseek, a file sharing platform mostly for music. I have yet to find a decent lossless streaming solution.
If you want games, Ebooks, or other kinds of media, type fmhy.net into your browser and they have a tonne of different media types and links for you to choose from. If your just starting check out there “adblocking and blocking trackers” section its a decent start for making sure you don’t get caught or anything.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Samsung smart fridges have started displaying adsEnglish
5·4 months agoPeople need to start using technology to improve their life and society. Stop using Windows, Google, Apple, download an adblocker, and don’t buy into tech consumerism like “smart fridges.” All I would want to know in a fridge that would be “smart” is like the temperature? and I wouldn’t sacrifice my time or attention by buying something which forces ads.

2·5 months agoI as a person wouldn’t even blame myself for buying an ICE car because I blame corporations for global warming etc. But I just want an EV because it’s cheaper to run, is more environmentally friendly, I can plug in to a wall socket at home, charge with solar panels etc.

1·5 months agoUsually I go by the rule that if it’s free and for profit you are the product, but cars are growing more expensive and yet they still inhibit your privacy.

Totally fair. I personally think Al Jazeera has been a positive force, spreading the word on the Gaza Genocide, the Sudanese massacres & conflict, and their unapologetic leftism. And the Qatar government hosted peace talks between Israel and Palestinian groups. I have never heard that BBC presenter thing though.

I agree. GrapheneOS uses chromium for Vanadium as it has far superior sandboxing to firefox, meaning it has more security. However vanadium doesn’t have adblocking.
So I use brave on mobile, with some settings tweaked recommended by privacyguides.org. Also brave uses chromium which is the only way to install grapheneOS in the first place, on desktop.
Also out of the mainstream browsers brave is far superior to all of them out of the box, even firefox, for those who arne’t into researching the perfect browser. It has in built adblocking and decent default settings. I use librewolf 99% of the time.
