Or just ask if they have nothing to hide why do they poop with the door closed? What could they be doing in there?

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•All this produce is going to spoil at the food bank where I volunteerEnglish
2·5 months agoAfaik they don’t. Something about storing them at low temp changes the thickness of the skin. At least that’s what I’ve been told working on produce.

2·6 months agoValve literally hosts petabytes of game data and allows any user to download them at any time. That’s not nothing, data storage is very expensive, and users are charged nothing for it. They provide a service to not only the customers, but also the developers. Steam has so many backend features that allow devs to skip so many networking steps that can otherwise be a huge nightmare. Not sure why you think they are literally just a webpage that has a purchase button next to a game.

Games@sh.itjust.works•You can start ringing the new Skate's death knell, because EA says it's online onlyEnglish
91·7 months agoYes I love it when a game can arbitrarily be made unplayable when the servers are taken down, even if someone didn’t want to use the multiplayer in the first place.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•People with ADHD: What are the things about it that people don't get?
91·10 months agoThe hardest years are still ahead of you. I have ADHD and was undiagnosed until junior year of high school. I was doing amazing in school until things started getting hard enough that I couldn’t just rely on my current knowledge and had to actually study. Make sure she develops strong study/organizational habits now before she gets into high school, because that’s when things can really start to fall apart. It sounds like you are already doing a great job, and more than my parents did at that age, so you might have far less of an issue.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Say I have US$10,000. What's the best use of that money if my goal is to stop climate change?
6·10 months agoThat’s a hilarious take seeing as most of “the elite” want us to completely ignore it and act like it doesn’t exist.
I’m amazed no one has mentioned Susie/Eddie Izzard yet. Their sets are rather old at this point so I shouldn’t be too surprised, but they are all great and I highly recommend them, especially if you are into history at all.

Games@sh.itjust.works•Despite running load tests that simulated 200,000 users, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 devs admit that they 'completely underestimated' how many players would actually want to play their gameEnglish
9·1 year agoWith Microsoft it can sometimes be really hard to tell if it was the devs, management, or both tbh.
I share a lot of those albums in my top listens! I highly suggest any album by the Avalanches (there are only 3.) Start with Since I Left You, then Wildflower, then We Will Always Love You. They’re a group from Australia that kinda popularized Plunderphonics. Where they just bought a TON of old records and made songs purely from samples. Since I Left You is an amazing album that is pure samples, easily over 1000 samples were used.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is one relatively unknown thing that your country does much better than elsewhere, but that most people don't know about?
41·1 year agoAgreed except for the archaic rating system for video games. Gonna tell full adults they can’t handle seeing a drug in a game that’s called by its real name? That’s pretty ridiculous.

3DPrinting@lemmy.world•Spawn #2 printed huge on hueforge by Uncle JessyEnglish
4·1 year agoI’ve printed a few of my photos like this and I really love the way they come out. Their contrast ratio is way better than a cheap printer could do and there is a neat feel to them. I would say just stop hating and let people appreciate their hobby the way they want to :)
I love mine specifically for hueforge prints. If you do models that have very few color switches and they are all by layer it doesn’t really waste any extra filament than you would by swapping manually.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Women of Lemmy, do you mind being called cute?
2·1 year agoSerious question from an autistic dude who is awful at this kind of thing. If you are genuinely attracted to a person and are interested in dating them is it wrong to just state that outright then? Because I see plenty of women where I like their dress, or their hair color etc. but that doesn’t mean I’m actually attracted to them. I suppose simply stating “I find you very attractive” might be best as it is just all encompassing?

Sync for Lemmy@lemmy.world•Sync doing rather badly on formating check (placed 18 out of 20!)English
5·1 year agoThere is actually evidence that the creator does not mean well at all. And it very well might be a propagandizing bot that is trying to shift the Overton window by labeling center and right leaning media as left biased.

Games@sh.itjust.works•Indie developer behind 'Overwhelmingly Positive' rated shipbuilder argues that Steam's "free advertising" is worth the 30% cutEnglish
12·1 year agoYou absolutely can do what you are saying. You CAN sell games for lower on other platforms as long as they aren’t steam versions. You CANT sell games that use steam keys for cheaper on another platform which makes sense because steam is still providing bandwidth and other services for your game.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What scientific discovery, which could actually happen in the next 5 years, would have the most impact in our lives in you opinion?
2·1 year agoSort of. It made more energy than the lasers that actually caused the reaction. It still used vastly more energy than that to actually power those lasers. We are still far off but it was a major stepping point.

10·1 year agoAm I greatly misunderstanding this, but it seems like they are saying cross platform won’t support level editing but you may still be able to do it but it will just disable cross platform play? At least that’s really what I hope it means, seems kinda vague.

Life would still exist. I don’t think there is anything humanity could do that would completely end life. There is life living tens of kilometers underground in the lithosphere and life in such remote caves that have been separated from all other environments for millions of years.
