My zwave stuff has always worked 100% of the time. My ZigBee stuff occasionally freaks out and my WiFi stuff (wled) on 2.4g is a cluster truck of peripherals and frequently bugs out… But not zwave. Not once, not ever. Its pricy but so worth it.

1·3 months agoGive onshape a look. If you’re using it personally it’s free, only all your save files are public. There’s a lot of free training courses that are really well done and easy to work through.
If racing to the bottom was a competition, you’d still be second behind Yugthos and their army of Canadian-based hot-takes. The only thing you’re winning is second place, always.
Why not just call out their tankie bullshit? It’s fun, entertaining, and rewarding.

3·4 months agoWhy not 3d print? I’ve taught myself a ton of CAD and sm now learning surface modeling. When I’m ready for a CNC, I’ll be ready.

2·4 months agoI worked hard to get my LCARs panels working and I’ll be damned if I am going to let that work go to waste.
I have a 24GB M2 and the thing dances around anything I throw at it. I’m typing on it right now with Onshape in a few tabs, orcaSlicer in a few windows, work in a few chrome tabs, a few iterm sessions, and a million other little apps in the background with very little hickups.

If I am designing something in CAD the whole world falls away and before I know it, its 10 hours later. Just like coding. I couldn’t give a shit about anyone or anything during those moments.
