100% this. Long long time portainer user. With multiple upgrade failures where it would not move my container setup forward i moved to dockge after it got remote system support. The difference in simplicity is night and day.

Joplin server also will use a file based storage instead of the db. And db then is only used for users
I use joplin as i share notes and collaborate with my wife. Obsidian etc dont do that. Id love to be on obsidian as i really like it but sharing notebooks is mandatory
Any ideas about linux/wine support?
Yup. Has an easy docker setup. Also if you have a kobo you can sync your shelfs wirelessly. Love it
I have 8 of these in 4tb. They are wonderful and ive not had a single issue
I think anything with an intel chip is golden. I have single port intel gigabit nics in all my boxes and zero issues
yep lazylib for books and mags. that feed calibre which cleans and converts to kepub, then that all is synched to nas for calibre-web
there are people that only use lazylib as it has odps server aswell
i use calibre on desktop to clean uip library like you. After any updates i sync it to a dir on my nas that calibre web uses. its a really good setup and passes the wife test
look at calibreweb for web front end. it is VERY good, It even syncs to my kobo wirelessly. love that app
Sorry cant help with das recco. Sabrent makes decent stuff i have a external that has 4 2.5 bays that i fill with older ssds when i cycle them out.
And yea a pure das should not be a secuiry issue
Use a das and run mergerfs if on linux. Makes all the drives look like one big one
Qnap has had some MAJOR security issues. If you get it block the shit out of in. Meaning no way to let it in/out of your network.
Im a big fan of synology. Had a qnap and bolted after all thier crap. Syno interfaces are mich better imho
Immich as well. Its damn good
I have a perfectly functional ds416 but its old too. I bought a newer model as my 416 mirrors data to it. Its a backup of my backup.
The main reason i did it is support for future updates including security patches. The 416 doesnt autoipdate anymore i have to dl a seperate file and update. Im concerned how much longer it will get security patches. When it goes end of life i can easily make the newer box my main nas. Ill probably do it next year regardless.
ive had great luck with heroic games launcher
I think you can generate static html reports from tautulli
