Cool!

Cool!
I live in France but visited Canada recently, I was able to see the main story but not all the bits before and after. The moment I landed back in France I received notifications for the 4 episodes I missed.
Not a big deal, really, but sometimes the news updates are very funny and balance out the heavier subject matter.
John Oliver’s show is free on YT outside of NA, hope that doesn’t change.
Stick with Firefox for now.
Some FF forks like LibreWolf break sites because they are too strict. That isn’t a critique, that’s just how LibreWolf works and if your threat model requires it, go for it.
You can toggle the flags or use a userjs like arkenfox or betterfox. Eventually they might also enable these flags.
On Android I like Privacy Browser, but it takes getting used to (I like being logged out when I close the browser in case someone uses my phone).

Two men in their 30s and originally from the capital’s Seine-Saint-Denis suburb — which includes some of the country’s most deprived areas — were detained on Saturday evening, according to Le Parisien newspaper, which first broke the story.
They were known to French police and one of the suspects was about to fly to Algeria from Charles de Gaulle airport, the newspaper said.
I know they’re just reporting facts, but the story is about a suspect being apprehended and maybe shouldn’t include notes about the suspect being from a deprived neighbourhood or make allusions to their nationality.
I talked to my students about the theft, they said it was shocking that it could happen in this day and age. They felt a little sad that the jewels were stolen, but part of the sadness came from the fact they didn’t know they even existed.

Well said!
And how could anyone compare an accidental fire to an orchestrated heist? Rember when the weirdos were trying hard to find someone to blame that fire on, and it was found to be an accident?
Then they spent a fortune rebuilding it and putting on a show?
Poor things…
Everyone that I’ve talked to about this just shrugs. They don’t care about the theft. There is no cultural wound. This wasn’t November 15.
(Also, remember when they tried to say hundreds of churches are burned down in France each year?)

They might not even need to pay for it and just do it to avoid getting blacklisted.
I can’t take articles like this seriously because the guy publishes up to 5 of them a day. I know that it is their job and they get advance copies to play before release day, and they have assistants.

Didn’t even need to click to know which network agreed…

I felt the same way, then I was asked to set one up for someone because we bought it as a group gift. It was so comfortable to use and not at all what I expected. It wasn’t even a great one, just a basic Kobo model. I ended up buying the same model and used it for years. My partner got me a new one and she has my original that still works like day one 14 years ago.
Beautiful!

True. I guess the tone wilm depend on my mood that day haha.

The featured image/title card is just wonderful. I’m a professor, and I don’t know how I’ll react if these ever enter my classroom.

I really liked the Pi400. Used it as my main device for at least a year. If I had an extra monitor I’d consider getting this as it seems to deal with my gripes about the previous version.

It is just their anti-AI thing, not a paywall. 404 are good journalists that published tonnes of great stories.

Multiple people within the company allowed that to happen. The brightest minds money can buy. Cumulative experience that can be measured in decades either did not forsee this or shrugged it off as “not their problem.”
Nasty.

And now a bunch of Canadians who have no idea who or what Kneecap is are about to start listening to them. Just like every time they are banned from playing somewhere or banned from radios. Good ol’ Streisand Effect.

If it were easier than HK people would be upset.
I haven’t played yet, but it is a different character with a different moveset from what I’ve seen. This is probably the reaction Team Cherry wants as opposed to releasing a gale that panders to players like the new Shinobi.

I’m hoping to get at least 5 years out of my current phone. Got it December 2022. The manufacturer has a 5-year warranty and Android updates and promises availability of replacement parts for 10 years. So far, there is no reason to update.

Too bad. He had himself a quaint little cottage. Other articles mention his alias and the imply that his family may have provided financial support. Probably got caught on CCTV.
Edit to clarify: the “too bad” means “too bad we don’t have more details” instead of “too bad he got caught”
On my personal computer I ended up using a terminal RSS reader (Newsboat) because the RSS software I tried before either rendered poorly or slowly and I would always end up reading the article in my browser. At least I can get through the feed fast. It also does podcasts and I set it up to deal with my YouTube subscriptions too.
On my Android phone I use Capy Reader.
There is no syncing between the devices.
Like lots of folks post-Google Reader I tried a number of online and syncable readers, like Feedly. It turns out it isn’t a big deal of things aren’t synced.
