E-bikes simply aren’t niche anymore. The US has awoken to the fact that electric bikes can replace cars for many…
More than a lot of things, I want to see an e-rickshaw taxi service in the city center near me, so I can go bar crawling in style. A car works for getting from A to B, but that’s hardly an experience: it’s just getting into a box and appearing at the destination. If I’m drinking in the city, I want to enjoy as much time on the town as possible.
To be abundantly clear, I don’t mean being churlish whilst in motion, but rather taking in the sights and the air while cruising along and cozying up with friends as a spirited rickshaw deftly ferries us through the shortcut via the fully-pedestrianized plaza.
I went to Dublin with some friends a few years ago, and there were pedal rickshaws there as an alternative to taxis. They were great. The people driving them were a lot of fun, and like you say, you could see a lot more of the city than you would from a car.
I don’t need a cargo bike, but I would use the hell out of a passenger trike!
