You have got to be shitting me!

🚨🔴⚪️ Bad news for Arsenal as Mikel Merino is injured.

“He has a shoulder injury and it looks like he will be out for a few weeks”.

“He landed on the floor and Gabi landed on top of him, it’s a fracture probably”, Arteta says

Sterling to Arsenal boys, here we go

He’s a decent option to have until next year

Romano is saying we’re trying to get another goalkeeper in addition to Neto.

Nygaard, Setford, Neto, and now one other? Kinda crazy.

Makes sense tbh, do we really want an 18 year old third choice

but also technically Raya came in this window too

I think the first time I flew to America last year, I was in San Fran and the immigration queue was about that

      Sorry man.

Customs/immigration lines aren’t usually too bad for me at most American airports. Except at Denver airport. Holy shit was that a nightmare! Actually missed by connecting flight and got stuck in that hell hole for 7 hours because of the horrible layout and abject incompetence of the staff.

Sterling with a pay cut wouldn’t be too bad.

Apparently it will have to be a loan to us or nothing. His financial situation at Chelsea is an absolute mess. He claims they owe him 70m in bonuses or something. And that’s aside from his current 300k a week salary (which he is willing to take a significant cut on). Given all this, a loan deal sounds like a wise move.

I would still prefer someone a little younger and less… how do I said it… washed-up? But he’s probably still a quality player, and he’d be a decent option off the bench in the right match.

If it’s a dry loan and he’s willing to cut his wages down to like 250k a week, it might be worth it just for winger cover. Reiss apparently wants to stay now, but with Jesus out for now we need to give Saka some rest.

That’s what Reiss’ is hoping to do - be cover for Saka. Things is, despite what Arteta says, I don’t think Mikel fully trusts Nelson. That’s why Saka was being played into the ground last season. And I don’t know if that will change no matter who is the designated cover at RW. This is, to a good extent, a phycological challenge with Arteta.

No, I don’t think he trusts Reiss either. And hey, apparently we’re only paying half of Sterling’s wages. So it’s even better than I thought.

What an absolute shitfest this transfer window. Elite clubs in Europe in need of a striker and this bum leaves for the Saudi league.

If this is about Osimhen I read somewhere that this is kinda a Oscar / Caicedo situation of “get money to get family out of poverty” situation, which I can’t blame them for. Saudis pay well.

No he just chilling and going to country music concerts. I think only because Andersen left that he was able to make the bench.

I’m actually surprised he hasn’t moved to the US and play because he is literally infatuated with American culture

Apparently Al-Ahli are putting in a 50M release clause into their Osimhen offer. … Could we just buy him in January for that much?

NGL, I feel like we’ve kind of screwed up this transfer window, and it’s going to hurt us as the season goes on (unless we get some players in over the winter, which isn’t that likely).

Calafiori was a great addition. Merino will probably be good too. And Raya’s permanent deal was a good foregone conclusion.

But we’ve now lost two of our right wing back-ups for Saka (Vieira and Nelson) and not replaced them. We have Jesus who can play there, but he’s injury-prone. Do we have some stunning, maybe academy grads ready to step up? I thought Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly are both central with a slight bias to the left.

Meanwhile on the left wing we have brought in Sterling on a loan - more competition for Martinelli and Trossard.

And we lost Eddie up front with no replacement.

Sterling can play RW, he’ll probably be main back up for Saka. Nwaneri has played RW before iirc, but probably Sterling first. Has also played 9 according to transfermarkt but I have no memory of that. But RW he should be fine, I think.

Still think we’re a bit light with Nelson also going but eh. Sterling is a very versatile player and I think less washed than people think, I’m quite in favour.
