Are there lots of non Nintendo games exclusive to the original Switch?

Nintendo consoles are for Nintendo games. Non Nintendo games on Nintendo consoles are a nice bonus, but only when looking at the lifetime of the console and not the launch.

When the Switch 1 came out it was also the only console that had the “half-handheld” form factor. A lot of indie games like Isaac, Hades, and Slay the Spire got PC gamers like me to double dip (or in Hades’ case, actually choose Switch over Steam) for the gameboy factor. The Switch (2) is no longer unique in that regard. I haven’t touched my Switch 1 for anything but exclusives since the Steam Deck came out.

That’s a fair point. I also have a SteamDeck so indie games I previously bought on the Switch 1, I would now buy on the SteamDeck.

If I only had a Switch or Switch 2, there are advantages to buying handheld versus a PC/Xbox/PlayStation.

With the new Xbox handheld thing that likely further cuts into the handheld market and unique feature of the Switch.

Yeah, there’s less reason than ever before to play something like Stardew or Isaac or Hades on the Nintendo box where your save file is hostage to their system and you’ll never be able to use mods and the developers have to outsource the patches to a third party so the game’s always a couple months behind on the new features…

Watch the switch 2 announcement direct. It’s full of third party developers “happy to finally bring their games to switch” that have been released over the past 7 years on every other platform. Most of them playable on steam deck or other competing handhelds. I felt really bad for Nintendo during the direct and was a big decision point for me to not be a day 1 buyer even as an avid Nintendo fan. I will buy when the next major Zelda releases, and I will look for second hand devices before buying new.

Change the headline to 5 year old game doesn’t sell well. Another switch 2 hit piece for a great selling system that’s actually available. The click bait writers can’t stop trashing the system.

Sorry you spent $500 on a switch pro. Great selling or actually available? Pick one

I like my switch 2. Calling it a switch pro is just comparing it to PlayStation pro. Which is $700.You are narrow minded if you think there has to be a shortage to be great selling. Keep drinking the bitter Kool aid and reading negative articles. I’m having fun on my switch 2 with my whole family

I’ll play your little kid “sorry” insult game with you. Sorry that $500 is too much for you and that you can’t easily afford it.

Weak come back with zero substance. Keep trying. I’m going to go and play some switch 2 instead of continuing this further.
