I"ve been playing this in early access for a while now…
Based on the current state of the game, october seems a bit rushed
They have a lot of bugs to fix, and a lot of optimization to do to get the fps up to where it needs to be.
Been playing since civ2…
I sank so much of my life into civ4 and civ5…
I couldnt get into civ6… Probably under 20hr of play time
I hope civ7 has something special that will get me back to that “one more turn” feeling…
I hope you’re upgrading from debian buster to bullseye!
If buying isnt owning then piracy isnt stealing
Did you know the early early internet researchers were part of a clandestine government organization known as ARPANET??? The entire TCP/IP stack is just a state-sponsored backdoor into your life!!!
WAKE UP SHEEPLE!!!
i think its a bit more simple than that
If a product is really good experience for you (ie. Not crammed with ads) AND you dont pay anything for it, then it’s not profitable.
Google didnt become one of the biggest companies in the world by doing volunteer work for your benefit
They only exist to show ads and/or harvest your data. Once those goals are met, then the user doesnt matter. They NEVER mattered
Weather underground is owned by IBM now
Anyone know of a community driven, non-profit weathet platform we can share weather station data with?
Wow, did not know this…
I think i will accelerate my plans for a new NAS lol
QNAP is taiwanese and still providing software patches for my 8 year old NAS. I think they are reasonably trustworthy
But i agree with you, i’m going to build my own NAS from scratch this year…
end up with all kinds of dependencies and leftover files from shit that you didn’t like.
I’ve been using debian for 10 years and never had this problem. Apt keeps everything very neat and tidy
Are you downloading random .deb packages off the internet and installing them manually?
I fixed it be going into settings and all types of apps
I’ve been reading nextcloud forums/reddit/lemmy/etc. for years now, and i feel like 90% of the problems are from people using docker or whatever easy one-click solution is out there
I’ve been running NC the old fashioned way for years now and i’ve never had problems of NC dying for no reason.
Have i had issues? Of course… Not not like the ones people keep coming here and shitting on NC
The only times i’ve had major issues and it was actually a problem with nextcloud, is buggy major version releases… So i never install a new major release until X.0.1 these days. Havent really had problems since
Nextcloud can be self hosted… It’s not really “the cloud”. Can be LAN only if you want
I trust the debian repo because fortune 500 companies run debian and rely on it
F-droid repo doesnt have the same level of scrutiny
I moved a lot of my foss apps over to f-droid. But i’m a little worried about security.
The odds of a bad actor being able to takeover f-droid and update my keepass app with a malicious version seems a lot higher than someone being able to do the same google play, right?
Yeah… Fuck me, for trying to compensate someone for their work so that they dont have to sell it to a spyware company… I’m the moron here
/s
If you dont pay for apps, they will 100% be enshittified
Hilarious that you read enough cory doctorow to know the term “enshittification” but don’t know what “free” software really means

I know lemmy has a gigantic hate boner for LLMs, but if you plugged this scenario into a good one (probably not the bog standard “free” chatgpt in bing) you’ll probably get a very entertaining conversation.
