Yeah I switched to Summit a long time ago. As much as I love Sync, the dev isn’t maintaining it, so features are slowly breaking over time.

I’ve been using Boost since Sync lost the “mark as read” feature, but I took a second look at Summit since I wrote that comment… And I actually think I like it more lol.

Do you know if it has push notifications? I moderate a handful of communities so getting notified of reports would be huge.

I may be confused lol. For as long as I’ve been modding for !196@lemmy.blahaj.zone, I’ve been able to see reports from all instances, but it’s an incomplete list. My lemm.ee account and .world account both have reports that the other can’t see, but the lists are mostly the same.

I assumed that meant we did have reports federating, just not reliably.

Is this update going to fix the report federation issues many mods have been having?

I’m not even sure what you’re asking, let alone if it’s possible.

I mean, you could probably divide its tasks/processes between different servers or computers, but I don’t see what the point of that would be. It’d just make things significantly slower and more costly.

Jesus Christ, spujb, no it is not. I know what’s in that post because I wrote a significant portion of it, and revised everything else.

Nothing that we wrote suggested our move was motivated by Ada’s policy towards respecting trans identities or neopronouns. We were very clear that our differences with Ada stem from her heavy-handed mod actions.

If you don’t want any ill will, a good start would be to stop putting words in our mouths. Especially words that incite harassment against us. I’m done arguing with you. Do the right thing or don’t, I’m not your boss.

You literally just told everybody that the mods disagreed with the neopronouns policy that Ada created over the Drag drama. None of us did, and it had nothing to do with why we wanted to move.

I understand that you don’t want to feel like you’re in the wrong, but you are. You are putting words in our mouths and we’re being labeled bigots because of it.

People harassed Drag and that wasn’t okay, but during the backlash you mentioned in your post, many people pointed out that Drag had a legitimate history of “trolling”, the most egregious of which was telling someone repeatedly to kill themselves, along with general calls for violence from and the suicide of trans people. We banned Drag for this.

So when Ada made her post, it looked like she was calling us out for labeling Drag a troll, and indeed that is the narrative a lot of you ran with.

None of us disagreed with this policy, and Drag was not banned over neopronouns. Drag was banned for an egregious level of harassment of another user + encouraging violence from and the suicide of trans people.
