Maybe (shocking idea but bear with me) she likes the job that she applied for?

That’s why it’s so juicy, they’re all such terrible people we don’t have to pick sides
Problem is that the labor commissioner’s office is so backed up, it’s a coin toss whether they’ll ever actually get to your case
There’s no way in hell an AI wrote that, only a human brain can come up with something that cheesy
Yep. My doctor told me about someone who had a non-24hr sleep schedule, so he always wanted to go to sleep at a different time. At least I don’t have that. But hearing all the “do things in the morning, when you have more energy” type advice suck.
I have a sleep disorder which means I can’t adjust to a DAY shift. It’s trippy, I’m basically the opposite of everyone else. I still work days, because that’s how you get promoted. But it’s like working a night shift for everyone else. After a few years you adapt, but it’s never really normal.
Illegal in Oregon and much of the SF Bay Area, for chain stores/retail/hospitality. Hopefully gets expanded.
Yeah but they think “racism” is “saying ‘colored’ instead of ‘African-American’”. Like they totally fail to grasp the severity of Deep South racism. They think hardcore racism is something that happened in the past, that we as a species have moved on from it, and surely (surely!) hysterical accounts like this are just gross exaggerations.
People who grew up in left leaning cities refuse to believe me when I point it out. Just flat out refuse.
There are levels of anonymity. You can get private enough that only certain government agencies with well funded budgets and motivated agents can find you. That’s waaaay beyond what 99% of people need.
When a company says “we care about your privacy” what they mean is “we want to keep all your data for ourselves”
Also there’s a whole generation of people who never knew the early internet, when privacy was the default.
The issue at play is the big corporate companies
I’m guessing you weren’t around before these guys ate up the internet?
The issue at play IS the big corporate companies. Period.
Modern web usage has allowed for better accessibility to all ages and types.
One could argue that this is part of the problem.
I have delayed sleep phase disorder so I’m one of the ones who got it. Nights are amazing, I function so much better and feel so much more energetic.
But it’s tough on your career. You will never move up working nights, because the faces the bosses see are there during the day. Sucks but that’s how it is.
I would have phrased it as “supporting” Threads. If you don’t defederate, Threads will take over your instance. Either directly through the sheer amount of posts, or indirectly by colluding with your instance admins. Or both. It’s how they operate. And then the ads and data harvesting and walled gardens will come.
Defederating would pretty much cut off a lot of potential new users that want to see posts on Threads while also not wanting to have a Meta account and all the issues that come with it.
Kinda the point, no? Kill Threads in the cradle by denying it access to the fediverse.
Microsoft does not give a fuck about the tiny fraction of people worried about this.
California wants to help the homeless but they also don’t want to pay for drug treatment, safe injection sites, or psychiatric centers.
It’s the half you probably don’t want to be on anyway. Automated censorship is shitty.
