He didn’t even have that much. He was using the “value” at time of writing and not at time of loss. The writer would have likely held onto the crypto currency until after the next crash and would be just as screwed

Perfect example since slavery wasn’t banned until the slave states straight up declared war on the free states. You’ll never get a wishy-washy candidate to oppose institutional violence. Only direct action will end injustice
I’ll be sure to ask my mom to die in 3 months from now so that i can get my seat on a plane. I’s supposed to be that you give the airline a copy of the death certificate and they allow you to fly for a discounted rate.
Yeah, especially if it’s local and you can go there regularly. I’m very fortunate that my little rural town has a great bar scene since there are multiple colleges here, and prices are very low ($2.75 for a bottle of Strohs or Rolling Rock, $6 craft pints). I don’t have cable, so i will usually go to my favorite bar to watch major sports events like the All -Star game, world series, playoff matches, or if ny Cardinals are playing a local team and my MLB is blacked out. Literally all it takes to start a conversation is vocally comment about a play and half the guys in ear shot will give you there opinion as well.
I’m a big advocate of bars. Just sitting at a restaurant bar, hotel bar, or at a local watering hole is a good opportunity to make small talk, chit-chat, and just kill time in general. People aren’t expecting a long term conversation with you, but most are happy to chat while they wait for a drink or their meal. If it is slow, see if the bartender is chatty. Typically they will be bored and not wanting to do any side work and will be happy to talk with you since it looks better to their boss than looking at their phone.
And honestly, i have had some great times at concerts talking up the people around me. Get to the show and wear merch from a similar band and you’ll have loads of people let you know how much they love that band/artist. Ask people standing around you if they are local or had to travel to get there. I feel like i am a shy dude, and i know for a fact that i am awkward as hell, but i have a lot of great interactions with people this way.
That’s because Thatcher and Reagan are essentially just modern liberals who openly detest minorities.
Yeah, pretty sure the cunt that shut down all the industries in the North because workers went on strike didn’t give a flying fuck about helping people.
The cable bundles made sense because there was never going to be enough interest for many of the smaller channels to stay viable, even if they had dedicated fans who loved their content. Bundling something like Logo with E! TV and ESPN meant that cable companies could offer you Logo at a loss while collecting big bucks from the industry giants. People DON’T want to pay for loads of small channels, they want to pay someone once and get everything they want.
That’s why Netflix was so popular 12 years ago. They had just about everything you wanted to watch all under ine tent for a fraction of a cable package. Now the content people want is scattered across various companies so people opt out
The restaurant i work at uses a system called “Future POS” which inspired me to write that over all the baby pics of me at my parents place
Wait until you see the absolute dog shit they are building in the US right now for 4x the cost in China
I grew up stateside, but it blows anything we have in Ohio out of the water. Cleveland is the only city on the state that has am actual light rail, which functions ok (i did get stuck in the downtown station for 45 minutes due to a breakdown while we received zero information from anyone at the station. A lady had to call RTA to figure out what was going on while we sweat it out on a hot and crowded underground stop). Toledo and Elyria have an Amtrak station, Cincinnati has about 4 miles of streetcar rail downtown and a few bus lines, while Columbus only has buses for a metro population of over 2.2 million. Where i grew up, St. Louis, the city wanted to expand rail routes out to the suburbs, but the residents of the suburbs shut it down because the white residents were “worried about crime” coming into the suburbs from downtown. Our systems are absolutely fucked out here.
We aren’t just talking small towns though. Any city that isn’t New York, Chicago, or Boston might as well not have any rail service at all. Houston has 22.7 miles of passenger railway that is only located downtown. Columbus Ohio has a metro of 2.2 million people and doesn’t have a single inch of passenger rail. Cleveland has an OK system by American standards, which i use whenever i go to Cleveland, but the only option for me to take a train into Cleveland from where i live in NW Ohio would take an hour longer than just driving there outright.
Don’t be dogging on Newcastle Transport like that. My grandpa used to be able to get anywhere in the UK by walking to the North Shields station and hopping on the light rail for free to Newcastle station. Just because the southerns ruined their rail systems doesn’t mean the Geordies trashed theirs.
I bought a stand mixer with the credit i was given instead and cancelled my Amazon account
The only time a tried to buy a laptop from Amazon it was advertised as 16Gb of RAM. What was delivered was 8G with an 8GB SD card taped to the box and Amazon refused to give me an actual refund. So i just assume any computer you buy on Amazon is fraudulent now
The US dollar ultimately has power because that is what it takes to pay taxes in the US. You want to do business in the US? Uncle Sam gets his cut, and he only accepts greenbacks. Same with the EU, UK, China, and every other major currency. If you don’t give Uncle Sam his cut, you’ll go to jail or wake up to 110,000 tons of American “diplomacy” plus fleet escort sitting outside you main port.
Ultimately the economic power of a country is backed by the state’s power to defend it. That’s why the USD stands as the global reserve currency instead of something like the Lebanese Pound or the the Kiribati dollar.
State currencies are backed by the military and police of their respective countries. You can criticize that all you want, but that gives them an actual value everyone can agree on since the punishment for not agreeing is severe.
So then why are the only people ising Bitcoin to move large amounts of money scammers and criminals? It’s a hassel to move large amounts of money from one country to another because the stakes are so high and everyone involved wants to make sure it is done properly. You wouldn’t send the down payment for a house or car via cash in the mail, so why would you do the online equivalent?
Isn’t Brave just a crypto scam? I have no clue why people trust it so much
