I woke up one day, and copilot had been installed on my PC overnight. I didn’t like that lack of control. This was, coincidentally, a weekend that my wife, kid, and dog were all gone. Since I knew Win10 only had a year left, and I had the time, I figured it was as good a time as any.
I downloaded Fedora and Kubuntu. Spent a bit of time with each, and went with Kubuntu. For a few days. It had issues waking from sleep, and I had to do some kind of tweaking with every one of my games to get them to work.
I don’t mind tinkering with stuff, but i just don’t have the time to make my computer my hobby. So, I switched to Mint. Everything just works. So, I put it on everything else. I guess the one time I really had to dig into terminal stuff was getting a wifi driver for my living room PC off git. Other than that, super easy.
Now, I’m coming up on a year of Mint. Couldn’t be happier.

Is it a Razer laptop?

Don’t know yet! I would assume get a phone that supports Graphene or Lineage. But I’m not opposed to some PDA sized Pi Zero Frankenstein abomination if it does what I want it to.

Wait until it affects me. Just like when I ditched Chrome. Just like when I ditched Windows. I used Vanced long after they were stopped, didn’t switch to ReVanced until Vanced literally could not play anymore. I’m the latest adopter, for sure. By the time I make a change, the path of what I want to do has been well-tread by others.

My exact setup.

I use the proprietary software for mine. Flashforge was nice enough to put out a native Linux version. I like it. But it’s very comforting to know that if I stop liking it for any reason, Cura works just fine with my printer. I don’t get using your closed source software as a selling point, though.

Pandorum was fantastic. I need to watch it again.
Pajamas shouldn’t leave the house.
Unique names and unique spellings of names are terrible. There should be a government approved list of names to choose from.
Religion is the worst thing humanity has made up.
Waterworld is a fantastic movie.
Linux > Windows.
Nah. It’s fine. I ended up taking an extra year to get my BSME. Nobody has ever once questioned that on my resume. Luckily, a few of my friends continued on to graduate studies, so I still knew a few people that last year.
Probably because people above the waterline don’t know Mozilla exists, and people below have seen how things have been going lately.
For a long time, I thought it was Fedora Core 4. I did use that, but I recently found my old burned CDs of Mandrake 8.1. That really took me back. I might install it on a VM for some nostalgia.

I’m so sorry to hear this! Please don’t delete your posts. I’ve enjoyed them. I’m really sorry the vibe changed so much for you. All I can say is that after 10 years on Reddit and two on here, here is still way better.
Where would you go after this? The only other alternative I can imagine is old-school forums.

Hulu uses what I’m pretty sure was the ending credit song in the intro. Probably to avoid Teardrop royalties or something. I hate it so much, I didn’t finish the series last time I tried to watch it.

Tried it November of 2024, ended up switching to Mint with Cinnamon, zero issues since.

That exact issue is why I stopped using KDE. I never did figure it out.
Bet he doesn’t know how to use the three seashells, either!
