For that price I can get 3-4 Ender-3s and the same number of Raspberry Pi and make my own smart printers .

Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is there any virtual pet device/app where you are the pet?31·2 months agoFinch is pretty close. Free as well. It’s intended to help with self care and mental wellness, could be a good fit for you.
Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's an Executive Order? Where is it spelled out what the do and how they're regulated? Can they be vetoed by another arm of government?14·2 months agoThe problem arises when the person giving those orders authority hears “By order of the king” instead of “by directive of the president”.
The US doesn’t want a king, it was a big deal here about 250 years ago. Looking like it’s gonna be a big reminder for the 250 anniversary.

Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto 3DPrinting@lemmy.world•There is currently a bill in the NY State Assembly to require background checks for the purchase of 3D printersEnglish13·4 months agoAgain. This bill was introduced last year, by the same person, and it died at the time because of some grassroots actions. Now, the wording is slightly different (so it can be introduced again as a “different” bill), and it’s being tried again.
Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•After you blow your nose, do you look in the tissue?7·5 months agoYes, for three reasons.
- I judge the color to be sure I’m not getting sick and it’s just a regular need to blow my nose.
- I check for the presence of any blood, since I work around materials and in environments that can cause alot of dry air, giving me a higher incidence of nose bleeds.
- My work environments are very dusty, and if Inhave alot of black or grey dust when I blow my nose, I know I need to clean my airways when I get the chance so the dust isn’t in there longer then a day.
Sounds like a ‘fade to black’, as I call them.

Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the worst present you've ever received?8·5 months agoMy aunt only ever knew one thing about me, that I grew up liking Harry Potter. First I got all the books, split across two years. Then I got all the movies as they came out, up to the 5th one. After that I was apparently too old for her to know what I liked, I got a gift card to a gas station for 3 years in a row. I mean hey $20 in gas wasn’t a totally awful thing as a late teenager, so I guess it could have been worse.

Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you be aware of major issues in the world and locally without becoming deeply depressed and cynical?6·5 months agoThe neat part is, you don’t.
Read Era is technically free, but I paid for premium years ago and have never regretted it. I can open any kind of uncorrupted book file, from the Amazon reader format to PDF to epub, and everything else I’ve ever come across. It has a great search function, and the ability to file a book into a custom ‘Collection’. You can edit the details of a book, like adding Author or pusblisher info, add your own personal notes to a page or highlighted quote, see an aggregate of all your highlights in a particular file, and adjust the font, background color, and contrast to your hearts content.
I make my whole family use it now, cause I love it so much and Premium works on Family share.
Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto 3DPrinting@lemmy.world•Hey can someone help with print quality this looks really stingy and sloppyEnglish2·8 months agoAlso expect some stringing, a little bit during printing is ok. Use a heat gun if you have one, or a blow dryer can work well as a replacement. The heat causes the thin strings to contact and they practically disappear as you watch. It’s pretty fun to do, and satisfying.
I’ve actually got a setting/ system that uses this idea as a world building start. Necrobiotic by Penny for a Tale. It’s pretty cool, although i use it as a guide for world creation with DnD games rather then playing in the created system.
