Man, this is Ouroboros feedback loop.

Man, this is Ouroboros feedback loop.

Welcome aboard. You’re going to feel so fulfilled and accomplished when you got all your things hosted on your own. It’s such a peaceful and safe feeling. I have a tiny dell optiplex that runs Debian and it’s been a host for all of my services. Navidrome, audiobookshelf, jellyfin, pihole, own DNS with unbound… Etc. Even built my own android app for music/audiobooks.
Then got me a domain from cloudflare for $10 a year and now I can access my stuff anywhere I got. My son and wife are both loving it.

Did you feel the smack on the back of your hand? Stop it. Don’t spend money you don’t need to spend. If anything, and you’re really, really bored, save your files and redo your work/reinstall the clean way you wish you had done to begin with. That’ll get you through a couple of weeks of busy work.

I want your “clinically deaf” part. There are so many people in this world I’d rather not ever hear their voices. Lmao.
Jokes aside. If your current machines are working fine and the $35 a month isn’t breaking the budget, then why replace them? I’ll only replace this one I have when something major fails in it, like the motherboard just dying or something I can’t fix. I’ve already replaced the fan on it. It was like $7 from eBay or something like that. But I’m that guy who never replaces things unless they absolutely need replacement. So, if you’re not that guy, ignore my dumbass. lol

Haha. No worries and no hard feelings towards the mods. This little computer has been a great machine for a bunch of things running on it. I installed debian on it and went to town. I’ve even made my Synology NAS a mounted storage on it and switched everything to debian. Thing’s been a champ with no hiccups.

Lmao. Why?

How does rule three apply to a comment? lol. I’m not the poster, I’m replying to a post that doesn’t break Rule 3. Oh well. I tried

My comment got deleted for some reason
Can’t wait until my app is published. It’s been over 2 months now. Hopefully soon 🍻

Get yourself a tiny computer like this one and go to town. This is actually what my whole “homelab” runs on. lol. I have my own Nvidrome, audiobookshelf, jellyfin, invidious, pihole, own DNS with unbound and some more, all running on this little thing. It runs so well. I don’t ever have issues.

For switching between monitors and the tv, just get an hdmi selector with a remote. Something like this for example. That way you just turn on your pc with the controller and switch to the tv with the selector remote. As for starting in steam big picture mode, you can’t have it both ways. You can do either or as far as I know. You could try installing cachy OS regular desktop then install the handheld package, which puts an icon on your desktop that when you click, it takes you to big picture mode. Although, I’m not sure whether or not the handheld package causes the machine to boot directly into big picture mode.

Why do people do that? Is it fun or something? I’ve been using AI a lot lately, but ONLY on my personal projects. I’ve never submitted a single PR to any project with AI. It just feels wrong to be honest.

Oh rich please.

I drink black coffee only and their black coffee tastes like shit. Always burned. No wonder why people fill it up with all kinds of sugars and creamers. That shit is fucking gross, and they charge like $3 for a small cup of it. Went a couple of times there because I had to and just never going back there.
It has been absolutely fantastic for me on the iPhone. Using Yattee and my own instance is the perfect combo. I’ve never had any major issues. Things work no problem. On Android, I just use revanced and the smartube next on the tv.

My server has been running Debian for over a year now with zero issues. Here is a list of the things I run:
Hope this helps.
Look in Anna’s archives. It has everything.

Remind me of the hardware you’re running on?
I have a Ryzen 7 5800xt for the CPU, and an RX 9070xt for the GPU
or you have Precision Mode enabled
never checked that box
if you see “libx265” or “libx264” in the top right
Yes, that is what I have now libx265(SW) - HEVC
Can I ask which version you downloaded?
histv-linux-full.AppImage
One additional thing that might or might not be the app’s fault, but I use an app called App Manager to install and integrate my appimages into my system, but it is having an issue with the .png image of the app. Just wanted to let you know about that. Your doesn’t have an icon when it is downloaded, only when it is launched. so it just looks like a file with a generic file icon in my downloads folder.

I haven’t really had the time to convert many. Just one and It is just sitting there at 0% for a long while then it starts converting and the ETA is 22 hours for a 8GB movie. A couple notable things also: 1. the ui is kind of too small for a 4k screen and there is no way to adjust it. 2. this could very well be a user error, but I can’t, for the life of me, find where to set the output file type. I want to convert an mkv to mp4 or something but I can’t find that at all. 3. at the top of the right panel, there is this line that says “Extracting MP4Box…” that never goes away. 4. when I try to convert a movie (mine are all 4k HDR), a window pops up that tells me that DV tools not found, then offers me to download it, but nothing really happen when I click to download it. Could that be why that “Extracting MP4Box…” is sitting there at the top? This is on Cachy OS linux btw.
NASes are so annoying. I had so many issues with my Synology NAS with plex and jellyfin. I ended up spinning up a debian server on a small Dell optiplex micro and then mounted my Nas as storage through debian. Installed Jellyfin as a normal debian package. No docker or anything like that. I’ve never used (or even heard of) QNAP, but are you able to reach it through SMB? If you can, then you can do it like I did
