  • That argument is a very short (not very detailed) way of surmising the current issue with our world as a whole.

Don’t like how cars have taken over the world, are the reason cities are hard to live in for low income families, and cause massive amount of climate damage? You can thank the 1% for that.

Frustrated with how you don’t really own anything, your digital “property” can be taken away from you at a moments notice, and that everything you enjoy gets stuffed with schemes to make more money off of vulnerable people? You can thank the 1% for that.

Angered that health care costs truly absurd amounts, that medicine is sold to the consumer with a 10,000% mark up, or that a single accident that was not their fault could land someone in debt for life? You can thank the 1% for that.

A disturbing amount of things that are not good for our planet, keep the poor people poor, and generate inferior products/experiences is directly because of the insane power that the rich hold over our worlds systems.

“It helps someone I don’t like because they are richer than me” is actually a wonderful definition of harm.

Reddit used to be an amazing place of community and content that you couldn’t find anywhere on the internet. Then in the pursuit of money and the power that the 1% have Reddit (the company) started implementing practices that actively made the experience worse for the user, violated a person’s ownership of their content, and removed choice just like authoritative/dictatorship governments do.

It feels to most people that there is nearly nothing that can be done about it. So when a person has the opportunity to directly go against the rich caste in our world they will take that opportunity immediately.

I recommend taking a hard look at the things that concern you with our world, or cause you pain/annoyance/discomfort and try and learn WHY the issue is the way it is. The majority of the time is because some rich person/group of people (I’m looking at you lobby groups) has an obscene amount of power compared to all of the people affected.

Lastly there is a reason that “Tax the rich/Eat the rich” is the rally cry of generations.

It’s because the rich cause us harm.

  • Some, I’ve used blender and fusion 360 for my resin prints. Blender isn’t great for cad work obviously but has worked for some things and definitely for the more artistic stuff.

I really love Fusion 360 but want to get rid of their dumb payment system but have yet to find a free alternative that is as easy to use. I use fusion maaaaybe 2 times every 3 months and like unlike blender it doesn’t feel like I have to keep using it constantly to remember all the shortcuts and menus etc. It just kind of works for the vast majority of stuff I do. I used to use Sketchup back when it was a real program and wasn’t online only.

  • I think I know exactly what choice you are talking about. I felt the same way to a certain extent. Let me use a level one or two spell slot to cast a glamour or something.

HOWEVER: What you get out of it in my opinion is worth it 100% also if you are on Pc there is a mod that takes care of the main problem with this gift. It’s the only mod I’ve got running at the moment.

  • I’ve got an Axolotl. Not sure where that falls on the spectrum of exotic pets.

They are pretty easy to get ahold of and apart from a chiller to keep the water at an appropriately cool temperature they are easy to take care of. That being said, every person that has come over to our place reacts with something along the lines of “WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING!”.

All I really need to do for it is top off the water every day or two and once a month or so replace 20% of the water with fresh water. It’s not even that critical to do that much water maintenance I just like to go for as clear water as possible.

Feeding is easy as well. Optimal feeding is once every 2-3 days but they can survive MUCH longer without food. Studies have shown up to 3 weeks is doable. This means if we are going to go on vacation for a week or a bit longer I just feed him once before we leave and then don’t worry about it.

  • I had just sold a car and was flush with cash so before going to buy my new one I bought every single pillow I could find in every home goods store near me and several from online. I then spent the next month studiously comparing pillows to find the right one for me.

The final two came down to a $15 pillow and a $190 pillow.

After deciding all the other pillows got returned and then went and got my new car.

In things as subjective as a pillow high quality is rather Nebulous.

For something like a woodworking tool high quality often matters far more.

The worst life pro tip I’ve ever received? Listen to the experts, they have made it their job to know the best things and you can’t go wrong with what they say.

  • You found that outfit and you didn’t immediately put it on astarion? I didn’t know it was possible to play BG3 incorrectly.

    /s

This scene cracked me up as well. Such a dumb look on their faces. I love watching the characters in the background during cutscenes. They are either perfectly matching your expressions exactly at the exact time or just completely brain dead thousand yard stare into the distance.

  • It feels like goalpost moving has become a national past time for most places.

The thing I currently struggle with, but haven’t found an answer to, is deciding where the balance lies between affordable services and content creators earning an appropriate living.

I absolutely love Spotify. My current job has me listening to music for nearly 11 hours a day not including what gets played at home. Leaving aside the issue of discoverability, if I had to buy all the different albums I listen to from all the different artists I listen to my music budget would be a significant percentage of my yearly income.

I am keenly aware that Spotify does not pay the musicians well. The current compromise that I have is I buy albums or merch from the artists that I listen to the most or up and comings I want to support. Not perfect but it works right now.
