There’s certainly a difference in domestic policy that makes it clear what choice to make when we’re forced into this idiotic 2 party situation. There isn’t much of a difference when it comes to foreign policy, so the rest of the world doesn’t really care which of “the 2 parties” we pick. Maybe there are too few options, and maybe we shouldn’t blindly support one guy just because the other guy is worse.

Seriously I don’t understand how Biden isn’t a shoo in. He’s such an old school conservative centrist lowest common denominator. The general public would shit their pants if we actually had a president with morals.

Why not just a second white noise, or other white noise adjacent sound? Even if they’re both looped they’re not going to have the same loop length and that will be a changing rhythm that way.

The democracy we live under is not unique to capitalism. In fact, our current system has less democracy than an anarchist system would. Also capitalism doesn’t have any requirement to be democratic. Whereas with anarchism, any dictatorship is directly against the core tenets of the system.

That being said, (I have not read enough theory to know for sure but) anarchism doesn’t necessarily preclude the idea of having managers or even CEO’s. It does preclude those positions having total power and control of an enterprise though. Dismantling the hierarchical structure of modern society doesn’t mean having someone be a coordinator of a larger group isn’t helpful. It just means that job isn’t given greater power or more significance than those being coordinated. Our current idea of a CEO is very dictatorial, but that’s not how it has to be.

I guess I wouldn’t consider hormones or nutrients drugs, but the nature of the question would rule out supplements I think.

The weather lately has been depressing and angering. I keep trying to get people around angry about it too, but just like everyone else it’s hard to feel like it’s possible to get anything done. That’s why we need to band together

There’s this old bookstore that has always looked sketchy. It’s in a district that’s had a lot of development over the past like 20 years, but that place remains. I tried checking it out once when I was younger, at least 18 if not 21. There was one car in the lot when I got there and I started to walk inside. As I was approaching, a guy stepped out and said something to the effect of, “what are you looking for?” And I answered that I wanted to browse the books. He responded, “there’s nothing for you here.” So I said, “okay” and I left. Haven’t been back since, haven’t been around there in a bit but it’s probably still there.

I think our current economic system makes that very difficult for a truly good person. In general I agree with what others are saying with respect to contentment over happiness and the fact that sorrow will always have its moments. But the current way to get to a place where you have enough to be content is largely in doing things that are about making money and not filling need. Humans typically get most satisfaction from being helpful, but our current system incentivizes selfishness and greed. It’s difficult for a person who isn’t naturally selfish or greedy to maintain “lasting happiness” in such a system. Although drugs might make you forget about the shittyness of our current world.

As a music listener, I’ve found Tidal has the best sound quality and algorithms. As a musician I surprisingly get the most payout from Amazon.
