Insight check! I think they’re just trying to deceive us, that this actually is an attempt to LFG.

Some great mind took hours to break this password. Hours!
Spoiler: the pony survived!
Jon and Bodhi are also playing their part as Group Patrons in the official 5e (published by WotC on dmsguild) book “Minsc and Boo’s Journal of Villainy”
Including quests, stat blocks, lore, and special group perks.
Applying real world logic to game rules never works out.
Also, you forget to take into account the weapon’s mass, form, structural integrity, the commoner’s reaction time, probability to fumble, the force of the wind, and probably a few dozen other factors that have an effect in the real world.
Just don’t. It’s a game.

90·2 months agoIf you look up the definition for an Object, it specifies that it is “a nonliving, distinct thing” — such as a corpse.
However, the definition of Creature does not say it must be living. So, a corpse is both a creature and an object.
There are even creatures that have never been living — such as constructs — and thus are also objects.
define ‘side’.
How many sides on a ball?

Dungeons and Dragons@lemmy.world•Which VTT offers the most fluid experience?
4·3 months agoIt’s pretty easy for players. You can lock everything and give them access to their own token(s) only. The player can pan and zoom their own view, but when required you can sync all player views with your current view.
I’ve used Owlbear Rodeo in online sessions with co-workers that had never before played any ttrpgs, and it went great.

Dungeons and Dragons@lemmy.world•Which VTT offers the most fluid experience?
21·3 months agoI use Owlbear Rodeo
It has maps, tokens, fog of war and some small tools like a pointer and a measuring tool for distances — everything I need.
If required you can install extensions but so far I do not really use that.

8·3 months agoHad not looked at Chain yet. It requires the same dc20 check to break as you would need to break rope. wtf?
My previous character was a Dwarf Marine (barbarian, path of the ancestral guardian). He was wielding an anchor as a 2-handed weapon.
He met his fate killing a sub-boss. (that is: a boss that came from the sea floor, the captain of a submersible galleon)

48·3 months agoIn the 2024 rules, rope:
- weighs just 5lb.,
- weirdly does not specify a length (so you always have enough??),
- and is a bit harder to burst (dc20 vs dc17), but you can now use Athletics instead of pure strength
oh, and the fancy Silk rope is no longer in stock.

Ttrpg’s can definitely be used by therapists (e.g.see https://gametogrow.org/ ) but people in general should not underestimate the skill and training professional therapists bring to the table. Just playing an rpg is not therapy.
I get the 21 , but I’m not clear about the 100.
Gennerelly accepted where ?

Dungeons and Dragons@lemmy.world•Do rogues start with 5 languages now?
4·6 months agoPhb page 37, on selecting languages, says:
Your character knows at least three languages: Common plus two languages you roll or choose from the Standard Languages table. Knowledge of a language means your character can communicate in it, read it, and write it. Your class and other features might also give you languages.
So your character gets at least three languages and also—so, additionally—what you get from other features like class or background.
