HorizonXI is free and immensely popular if anyone wants a good look at what old-school MMOs used to be. It requires cooperation and teamwork at every step, and the community is wonderful.

Gen Z struggles with file systems in general, because the vast majority of their technical experience is on mobile OS’s. However, Gen Z compsci students are somehow far beyond the skill set that millennials had at their age. Or at least that has been my experience with interns over the past 12 years.
Spiderwebs or insects can mess with the sensors, likewise with dust. Try spraying some canned air inside. Or if it’s a few years old, you may want to replace it.
I had no idea there was a word for this, I’m the same way.
Running from something that is trying to kill me and being chased. Occasionally it catches me and I start screaming in my sleep. That was a fun one to explain to my boyfriend when he moved in.
Active, then I switch to New once I’m caught up

For individuals, yes. For organizations, no. Orgs who know what they’re doing use a HSM for their data encryption. Thus the title of this post is inaccurate.
But from the consumer side, I am absolutely never going to buy a “Copilot Plus” device, whatever that is.
I thought that surely it couldn’t be that bad. But…
“Recall uses Copilot+ PC advanced processing capabilities to take images of your active screen every few seconds,” Microsoft says on its website. “The snapshots are encrypted and saved on your PC’s hard drive. You can use Recall to locate the content you have viewed on your PC using search or on a timeline bar that allows you to scroll through your snapshots.”
G Suite is a legitimate option for small-medium businesses. It’s seen as the cheaper, simpler option versus Azure. I usually recommend it for nonprofits as they have a decent free option for 501c3 orgs.
Pokemon Go. It will entice you to take long walks in areas that you may otherwise not visit. I moved from a rural area to a big city and play Pokémon Go daily with my pup, rain or shine. We end up spending hours outdoors and it’s done great things for my mental health.
I had a Sony Vaio desktop around 2002 or 2003. I believe it had a Core 2 Duo and 256 MB RAM. I eventually doubled the ram to 512 MB and added a 64 MB graphics card to play FFXI in 2004.
Ironically my first cellphone was also a Sony. It was an Ericsson flip phone around 2008. I was working at RadioShack and got to watch the smartphone evolution in real time, so that was pretty neat.
Got promoted! I’ve been at my company for about a year and hyper-focused on a particular technology that the new CIO is banking on, so it was a right-place right-time sort of situation. I’ve always had to fight for promotions so this was a pleasant surprise.
Does one need to have watched the original X-Men to appreciate the new one? I started '97 last night and it began by explaining the death of a certain character, which I was taken aback by. I turned it off and figured I should watch the original first.
It’s never fun to be in the position of needing to fire a client, but I’ve been there. Trust that it’s the best for your company’s long-term success. Things will proceed much more smoothly without their roadblocks.
I also came here to recommend lemon bars! Here’s a viral recipe that everyone (including myself) swears by.
This is such a wonderful throw-back
Been working all nighters since Friday and napping where I can. Crunch time on a big project at work. BUT I finally finished it 30 minutes ago, so it’s gonna be a good day.
Excuse me sir, if I may offer a rebuttal: Fuck you with a cactus.
11 years? Damn, time flies. I waited in line for the 1.0 release and took a week off of work to play it. I really need to give XIV another shot once I’m done with XI.
