That’s both the beauty and problem with it.

When you get your hands on a piece you’ve been after for years, the feeling can only be compared to getting a new toy as a kid. It’s lovely.

Kyrgizion@lemmy.worldto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•To join Facebook these days, one must record a video selfieEnglish2·23 days agoNope. Managed to stay off of it for my entire life so far. Reason for it was that back in '05 or a bit later one of the very first things I learned about the nascent Facebook, was Zuck’s famous “Dumb fucks” remark about his early users. I rightfully concluded that someone with such a mindset would be an absolutely plague on mankind and I would never willingly help them in any way, no matter how insignificant.

Damn, Elon’s company town is barely a week old and others are already introducing scrip. I knew it was going to be inevitable but this is way faster than even I anticipated.

It’s definitely being talked about, despite these attempts.

Strong mix of memes and actual engaging content. Also, focused on modern politics plus history. The kind of people who would’ve created the Alaxamenos graffito two thousand years ago.

I have an SO and child which is enough for me, but I’ve given up trying to maintain friendships outside of coworkers at work for over two decades now. I’ve never had a “best friend” in my entire life, so again, my SO fulfills that niche.
Let’s face it, in this world “acquaintances” is the best we can still hope for. No one has the time or the inclination to sacrifice anything for, well, anyone at this point.
Kyrgizion@lemmy.worldto [Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•How is your week going?English3·2 months agoPros:
-Roof repairs almost finished (but it just started raining dammit)
-Got Tempest Rising & Oblivion remastered, two shadow drops of highly anticipated games
-Ordered a new videocard because my six-year old one can’t chug it no more.
Cons:
-Ran out of weed, will have to wait until next week for a fillup
-Work is boring, as always
All in all, not too shabby.

Never used it, never will. Ventrilo for lyfe.
Just ignore Reddit. Pretend it doesn’t even exist. It’ll go the way of Digg soon enough.
Kyrgizion@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Can you give me some tips about your niche hobby?4·3 months agoV-coins and ma-shops are reputable and you won’t easily come across fakes there. Just stay away from Ebay and the like. Also, if you go for the affordable types (common denari or late roman bronzes) these are almost never faked since it’s not worth the effort. They cost like 5 bucks for decent pieces, maybe just a bit more if you want a nicer specimen.
Considering many male reptiles have hemipenes, not all that surprising I suppose.
