It really does depend on the model. Pre-T2 security chip, running Linux on a Mac was more or less the same as running it anywhere else as long as you had the drivers installed. The T2 definitely complicated things a lot.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Why does nobody here ever recommend Fedora to noobs?
7·2 years agoDon’t even get me started on disk partitioning. I feel like they somehow have the most obtuse partitioning setup out of every distro I’ve ever installed. It feels like if you don’t just hand over your whole disk (which, if you do that, I feel like it doesn’t make it clear how it’s going to partition it), the installer gets very spiteful and just goes “fine then, figure it out”. I’ve never had so much trouble manually partitioning a disk before, I would literally rather just use fdisk lol.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Using gaming controllers for anything other than gaming ?
4·2 years agoDualShock 4 and DualSense touch pads do this too! They even support multi touch so you can do left/right/middle click by using multiple fingers.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Be honest, do you still use reddit?English
1·3 years agoI only go to reddit now if I look something up and get a link to it. I don’t go there to browse anymore.
Given that I’m a fresh high school graduate I’m not looking to get married any time soon, but my girlfriend was my best friend first and the two of us have been together nearly three years now and still love each others’ company. I would have to say that it’s how we’ve managed to stay together through high school, we actually just enjoy getting to see each other in any context. She’s equally as much of a nerd as me and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I can’t imagine getting together with someone who I don’t already love hanging out with first.
