Usually the news only concern the instance’s users. If you want to find announcements, the community is often named either meta or main.
But maybe a common place for instance status announcements isn’t such a bad idea.

The instance admin is working on migrating the server as we speak. It’ll be back up sooner or later.
You can’t move it even with admin access, because it will break it for other instances that expect the old domain.
Theoretically it could be “safe” to manually copy local content made by local users, but I wouldn’t dare to attempt it.
That’s some good improvements you have there. Great work, and thank you.
Y’know, I was just going to mention Fandom. I have no idea how well this will work for Wikipedia, but I know something like this can work great for games.
Fandom is straight up harmful to game communities, and I think federation makes a lot of sense with per-game / series / etc. instances.
I’ll look at this a bit more later, quite interesting idea.
I joined fediseer with this lemmy instance. I don’t know what’s going to happen with your self-built software, but getting a guarantee is easy, if your instance looks credible. I’m not aware of anyone that uses it as a filter at this point either.
Anyway, this is an awesome project. If you keep working on it and need a fediseer guarantor for the site, I’m happy to do that.

They saw the wsb ape mentality and hope to leverage it.
I wish.
It was kind of a joke response.
If this encourages light, fast loading pages, I’m all for it.
Well I appreciate that. But simply discussing piracy should be okay.
It helps admins help you stay anonymous by relieving them from having to cover for you.
Sure, but that’s assuming the logs contain your ip in the first place.
Funny how you made this post now. I decided to get into Discworld very recently and finished Mort just the day before.
Got plenty of CDs older than that, and they’re fine. Might happen some day, but in my experience it isn’t that bad.
I’ve just been in this place before
Honestly, staring at a blank page for 30 seconds would be preferable to 30 seconds of ads.
Sonar is scary as hell.
There was a thing about this from the finnish public broadcasting company a while ago. Their results were similar.
