I had never heard of them until a Letterkenny episode mentioned them multiple times.

If I sneeze and somebody says “bless you”, my response is “No, but thanks for the offer”.

I just checked it out. It looks like new Reddit.
Likely just not in the US. Many other countries never had unlimited texting plans, so messaging apps that could bypass SMS became very popular when they came about.
I wish anybody I knew used it.
I was the first person I know to even hear about it. I’ve gotten a few people on it, but it’s a harder sell now that they don’t support SMS. Back when they did, anyone could use it as their main messaging app. Now it can only be used to message other people who have it, and nobody wants to switch to something that they can only use to talk to one person.

I wonder if this fact was any part of the inspiration for the Spidertron.
It reminds me of Reddit when I first joined (2011). I actually uninstalled Relay a couple days ago as I hadn’t intentionally opened it in weeks. I’m probably not on here any less than I was on Reddit as some people are saying, but I do tend to browse all most of the time for now. I almost never browsed r/all.
I’ll still go to Reddit if a search result takes me there, but even that seems to be happening much less than before.
When I wanted to cut back on my drinking: “Just don’t buy it.”
Look, it’s great that you’ve never been addicted to anything, but it also means that you’re in no position to be offering addiction advice.
I bought Skyrim for PC so that I could give mods a try. Wine was garbage at the time, and I wanted to use my computer to game. So, Windows it was.
Thanks to proton, I was able to switch to arch on my desktop for the last few years before my power supply died. At least I’m pretty sure that’s what’s wrong with it. I’ve been staving off insanity for a few months now with my steam deck. I got a dock for it a couple weeks ago, so I’m technically running an arch desktop again even if it is KDE.
I was hoping for Relay, but the dev is sticking with Reddit and switching to a subscription model.
Yeah, even the “difficult” distributions tend to just be a matter of following instructions to get a working installation. Gentoo was a massive PITA to maintain though. Chances are I was missing some knowledge that would’ve simplified things, but I spent way too much time on maintenance for the system to actually be useful. Arch has been much kinder.
