Maybe your awareness splits with each copy, so you go from an “I” to a “we.” No such thing as a “master” copy then, just different organs of the same meta entity

Would you be able to live with yourself?
Yeah actually this is it for me
Lately it’s been beans and toast? Weird, but I look forward to it. Can’t eat tooo many beans ofc, for social reasons, so that’s why it feels like a treat
I’m fine with requiring users to tag their own content if they want it to be discoverable. Like if you want to tell people “hey I’m talking about pixel art over here!” just add #pixelArt to your thing.
If you don’t want to shout it loud for all to hear that’s fine too. Not everything needs to be indexed, cached, and highly available to all who might potentially, possibly want to see it.
Algorithm doesn’t have to be a secret engagement sauce. It can just be based on an editable list of the user’s preferred tags and keywords with associated weights.
No need to get more complicated than that because you’re not trying to juice their “engagement” since their are no ads to show them.
Although I’m not even sure if infinite shorts make sense without a company pulling the strings for their own motive. But maybe it’s just not my thing
I’m on two. You can literally spin one up for probably $30/mo if memory serves (for a fancy Discourse server on Digital Ocean), then just invite people.
E: actually price looks to be between $5 and $12 dollars depending on your needs, and how much work you’re willing to put in
I bow to your superior emoticon use :o
giving each other verbal cues to do certain things/do certain things to them which the audience doesn’t/can’t hear [hopefully, looking at you Cena lol]
What’s the story with Cena? He came after my time.
I have no idea or interest in finding out, but it isn’t zero
I mean I boycott products if I don’t agree where the money is going. Nestle, Amazon, Israel (BDS), etc etc. Everyone who has the capacity should at the very least try to avoid funding people and projects they think are detrimental to life.
Well said, rising slope of solid rectangles
Thanks but it probably made it easier. I just don’t think of it as home anymore.
I have more nostalgia for my first couple of places after moving away from home. It kinda just keep rolling forward like that. Now I’ve got old homes all over the country
My hometown has been amalgamated into the nearby city, and my old neighbourhood is totally unrecognizable. If not for the street names, I would’ve just driven by without even a glimmer of recognition.
Speaking to other people from around here, I realise my hometown was always kind of shitty. Close to the highway and industry and not really meant for families, but in my memories it’s all so bright and beautiful, and full of kids.
Anyway, that’s all to say that we add our own rose tint to the past no matter what. It sounds like you grew up in a pretty ok spot, with some real greenspace. Maybe that’s some comfort? That you actually have something real and good to feel nostalgic over?
Not your fault. Should be free for everyone, then your work income would just be icing on top
My buddy traded his for rent
Buying a house. Got lucky and bought before the pandemic, and even then just barely scraped together a downpayment by borrowing from inlaws.
It’s crazy how having a mortgage have us access to so much cheap credit. We were able to pay off all consumer debt and even most of our student loan debt. Even with all our debt bundled in the mortgage we’re still paying far less than we would to rent an apartment.
It’s nuts
“pirate friendly” meaning not snitching on their own paying customers? Wow
Digital goods in the 20s be like
Damn that sounds like a fun read.
