I believe that’s because those two APIs support function calling, open source support is still coming along.
Nice. Software developer, gamer, occasionally 3d printing, coffee lover.

I’ve had to carrier unlock two devices from T-Mobile. You’ve already returned it, but if anyone else faces a similar situation: for whatever godforsaken reason, DMing them on Twitter is the way that has always worked for me. There is back and forth, but usually they set you right.
That reminds me, I just started The Completionist Chronicles by Dakota Krout and it started off with some really weird Elon Musk fanfic… Fortunately I haven’t seen anymore but damn I was nearly nauseous.
Just download it from a third party and compare the checksum with the official information. Granted, the official checksums on their website are behind a few steps, but you already tried on public Wi-Fi - once you generate the link a “Verify your Download” section should appear.
Safety Net was replaced with the “Play Integrity API”. The current workaround I’m using is “Play Integrity Fix” by chiteroman and playcurl by daboynb. I believe this is still limited to Android 14 but could be wrong. The xda thread for it could shed some light.
I work two jobs and have no days off but Friday is the start of not having to drive the next morning so yeah, in a way.
When I first came across that wisdom I realized my desire in a relationship was to just pour myself into the other person, basically worship them. But not for their benefit, but to distract myself from myself. It’s fairly easy to see how that goes wrong.
I’m still learning, and I’ve found even more stuff I need to work on, but either I get there or I don’t, what matters if I never stopped trying.
I found that same nugget just under a decade ago. Dropped off the dating scene to work on myself. It really made me reflect. I’m still working on myself and honestly I suspect I will be for a while to come.
My old project I got to architect the frontend ran lean at around 300KB - part of our target audience had older phones so it was designed with that in mind.
At my new job 22MB is child’s play. To be fair they might do it better with the next version.
I’ve been using Porkbun for over 5 years and haven’t had any issues. I switched from a mix of Google Domains and Namecheap.
Generally the country based TLDs have that problem. That isn’t unique to porkbun or .de
I have a Pixel 7 Pro, in the U S. (and some other countries) call recording is disabled by default and sometimes it’s possible to get your phone to think it’s from a region where it isn’t, and then enable it, but I haven’t really looked into it recently. It’s also really fucked because my state in the U S. allows call recording, so I really feel Google is being lazy by restricting it countrywide.
I use skvalex’s Call Recorder. Been using it around half a decade.
I root my phone so I can record my calls. That’s about it. I do other things with root but they aren’t the reason.
Why do I want to record my calls? Because my memory is shit and it’s nice to just be and to go back to a recording lol
Once you hit Android 14 you’ll have to.
Safety net is on the outs, now the go-to is “Play integrity fix”.
Disagreed. If it requires a server side element, it incurs an ongoing cost and a subscription can be justified. And to clarify, by “requires”, I’m referring to the functionality, not having it shoveled in. And the price should be realistic.
Some apps do this well, Sleep for Android is an example that comes to mind. Free with ads, ad-free is an inexpensive one time purchase. You can also purchase additional plugin apps that add functionality that isn’t required or even useful for most people. And finally, they have a cloud plugin app to let you backup your data, you can pay for their cloud subscription which is $2.99 a year, but you can also just use other cloud for storage like Google drive.
One major con for Bambu is that the firmware is not open source (at least, last I checked). This puts you in a walled garden of sorts. It also can make you vulnerable, for example earlier this year a bug caused printers connected to Bambu’s cloud to start prints that weren’t request. You can imagine how bad that is.
This being said, I plan on my next printer upgrade being to a Bambu. I’ve gotten tired of the calibration game and Bambu does that well.
One of the first things I did when I took over an old php project was convert to bcrypt and add logic to automatically upgrade the hash on their next login (and in case you’re wondering, we also removed the old insurance hashes and the upgrade logic after a while, forcing remaining users to do a password reset).
I saw a few others, but the ones I looked at were basically instruct layers where you’d need to add your own parser. I didn’t find anything (in my 3 minutes of searching) that offers an openai chat completions endpoint, which is probably the main stopper.
