  • Thank you for sharing this, it looks really promising

I’m tired of only hearing of Kodi suggested in threads like this. I don’t get why it’s so popular, it’s confusing for non-tech oriented people, you can’t stream, YouTube functionality is questionable, the interface is dated looking and IMO an eyesore…

Some people like Kodi and that’s great but it sucks balls for other people and there’s barely ever any mention of any sort of alternative (like your comment)

    These threads are usually just:

“I need a device or software for watching tv that works with a remote”

Kodi Kodi Kodi jUsT uSe A lApToP Kodi Kodi Laptop + HDMI cable

It’s not cool that these people ambush us in public places

But also there’s a better way to handle it IMO, saying I’m not interested and repeating it no matter what they say shuts them down before they can even get going

You saying ‘I don’t believe’ is an in for them, an opening to engage with you, might even give them hope that they could convert you or whatever

If you say you don’t care what they’re pushing, regardless of the content, they have no angle of approach. The best they can do is something like ‘your not interested in being saved?’ and you don’t give a fuck and repeat I’m not interested

‘what if I just give you this flyer?’

    I’m not interested

‘Why don’t you care about God?’

    I’m not interested

It’s like giving a sales pitch to a wall. They realize the futility as quickly as they can and move on.

At least that’s how I handle it

  • Fascinating, thanks for sharing. I see it says peer to peer vid chat and works in the browser but I’m wondering if it requires setting up a server or using a public instance, something like that?

Or is it possible for two people to go to the web page and start a vid chat with zero installation or any other preamble?

Sorry I’m away from home so I can’t look into the GitHub page deeply enough to answer my own questions
