You can go to https://phtn.app/ and proxy login to any Lemmy instance. But admins can also self-host Photon on their domain, like https://p.lemmy.world/.
Yeah I just watched it and really enjoyed it.
Did you hear the secrets that I keep?
It is pucture-based, but the is more of grouping images clipped from websites (you can upload your own images, too).
Looks like I can get an international version on Amazon, would have to check the supported cell bands.
I could do refurb direct from manufacturer, but I don’t think I’d ever go for used. Problem is there just doesn’t seem to beany options. Lenovo US only seems to have one model with a cell antenna and it’s only LTE. Other than that it’s Samsung or an import, which I’d be wary of compatible bands.
I’m on Google Fi which lets you just add extra SIM cards to share a single data plan between devices. So just a one-time cost for the card.
True. Though I’d probably go for a new unit without the 5g and just keep tethering my phone hotspot. But like, I can get a $200 Moto phone from Lenovo with wifi and 5G (and 8G RAM), so why can’t I get a $300 tablet from them (even with only 4G memory)?
https://www.motorola.com/us/en/smartphones/index.html?visibleDatas=14015%3A8GB&sortBy=priceUp
but I cannot find it on the US website of lenovo.
That’s kind of the crux of it. I’d prefer Lenovo to be less removed from stock, but they only appear to have a single LTE model and no 5G. And they have soo many different variations on the same model it’s so easy to unwittingly buy the crappy version. If you go to android.com/tablets to try and find manufacturers, it’s literally just Google and Samsung. But the Samsung Tab A9+ only comes with 5g in the low end model with 4GB of ram.
There doesn’t appear to be a US version of that, that I can find.
It originally set out to be just an account-hosting instance, at a time when the major instances with the big communities would be going down as usage surged from people leaving Reddit. This way it was more responsive and reliably online. They have <10 communities hosted on the instance.
Yeah after that long it’s just going in the recycling. Another thing you can do is notify the post office or carrier to deliver your mail by name only. This won’t stop mail addressed to “current resident,” but it should stop the stuff you’re talking about.
Write “return to sender, wrong address” on the envelopes and drop them back in the mail.
Then, somehow, Abrams returned.
Fucking gold.
I gave of MacOS when an OS update included a firmware rollback which disabled gigabit Ethernet on the NIC. So the Fedora install.may have updated the firmware or changed a firmware setting.
I would have to think things like shitting in public. There’s signs like this in locations around the world.
I’ve traveled a bit and so appreciate the culture of haggling. One time while in Panamá I needed an SD card. The Baroness is from there, so we were out with a few cousins going to the mall and big box stores. Of course everywhere was charging like 3x what it would cost in the US. So at the last shop I just laid it out that I could get the $45 card for $15 in the US so asked if they’d take like $25 or something. She was a little confused as haggling isn’t super common, at least in the modern shops. So she went to go check with the manager. He came out from the back. Indian guy. He just looked at me, the only white guy around, and was just like “yeah we can do that.” Had a look to him like he appreciated the encounter. On the way out one of the cousins was gobsmacked that it worked, like he had just witnessed real life magic.
I also misunderstood the post.
