There’s a WiFi 7 remake coming out next year!
There’s a WiFi 7 remake coming out next year!
a daily check is enough for most
Yeah I have to strongly disagree.
And then the opsec angle comes into play:
Which is why Proton’s notifications have been encrypted for years.
…I mean for the bulk of apps, sure. For email though?
The quality of Reddit has been declining for the last ~5 years. Even if you ignore all the shady shit Reddit themselves have done, the platform has been declining due to simple popularity. Simple-brained people joining and upvoting memes and reposts and fucking TikToks. There’s also just the toxicity of society in general. There used to be honest discussions and nuance and input from industry experts. Now it’s incredibly corporate, and hardcore liberal, and full of the same toxicity as Twitter.
It used to be mostly Libertarians and Atheists, kinda like how Lemmy is all sysadmins and Linux enthusiasts.
If you want to argue about their centralized nature, we can, and I will agree, but that’s not what we were discussing.
…do you really think they’ve spent all this time creating a new browser that just has a setting enabled?
No you can’t.
I’d recommend the Third Reality plugs instead. You can buy them right now, and probably for cheaper. And they’re smaller.
No they can’t. Signal has and will pull out of countries before caving to that.
Pretty much all browsers are. Unfortunately Chrome holds the vast majority of users and websites are built for Chrome (and Safari but I’m sure as fuck not throwing buckets at Apple for their disposable and proprietary trash).
Don’t really need to read it.
tl;dr ad-blockers are built into the browser itself so MV3 has no adverse effect on it.
The only company that can acquire Signal is another non-profit.
What are the privacy implications of adopting RCS?
RCS is not encrypted. At least the non-Google version isn’t. I think Apple is working on that with the GSMA or whatever they’re called.
So, Signal > iMessage > RCS > Telegram > WhatsApp > SMS
Is there any other apps that have RCS support on Android other than Google’s own messaging app?
I think Samsung. But then you need a Samsung, which is its own problem.
Otherwise no, but there may be more soon since it’s being adopted by Apple.
Get an app that does one thing very well rather than a mega app that tries to do everything.
I agree. I am not a fan of Nextcloud. Moved to OwnCloud a while back. No ragrets.
What is the goal?
Delete all your cookies. Don’t use 2FA. Use a private browser. Use a VPN. Make a new account. Upload away. That’s about all you can do.
I mean yes, but at least their Discord is externally archived/indexed and they have a Discorse Forum. None of those are my preferences but it’s better than nothing.
Really annoying that I cannot uninstall Lutris…
They promised first deliveries before the end of 2022. The only thing they showed up with was a new prototype. There was no explanation given. No acknowledgement. They since pushed the delivery dates back 3 more times, each with no acknowledgement or explanation. Now they say late 2025. I am not hopeful.
Aptera supports Right to Repair
I like Aptera and have a couple of them pre-ordered but that’s nothing but a promise. They have plans to IPO. Zero chance their consumer-friendly approach survives that for very long.
I hate to tell you this but, they don’t care. If they haven’t implemented an easy way for you to request deletion, it’s because they don’t want you to have it.
