I think the rest of my communities haven’t seen activity lately, so I’ll have to post in them first!
Avatar is a lemming in bed because this account wasn’t intended to be used except for creating communities… and then my instance announced it was closing.

Maybe you’re looking for !folklore@mander.xyz
Why? Because they’re mine and they need more love.
Yeah, same. I set it up as it looked like the best way to control my inverter - I wanted to set it to charge from the grid when electricity was free, and discharge during saving sessions without having to do it manually. I then expanded to trying to calculate how much charge I needed overnight in cheap rate based on the solar forecast for the next day…
Anyway, I now have everything on it and keep thinking of things to add.
Depends how many sugars. At least three heaped teaspoons should qualify, two is borderline.
I don’t know anything about Pinboard, but if you do decide to change you might want to look at the Fediverse enabled Postmarks.
There’s also some sort of soft blocking option, which largely hides the instance AIUI but still gives the ability to follow users. This seems like a better option rather than completely defederating.
If Meta want to scrape your data they can do that anyway. All defederation does is stops you looking at their stuff (which, as you say, can be blocked at the user level anyway)
Hello! Not a woman, but from what I’ve heard I understand the hiding. Frankly the men that do that sort of thing need a kick up the arse and I will never understand what it’s supposed to achieve.
I think this is the same trick gone wrong (from about 3.06) https://youtu.be/4kq3VIGNffM?si=idG_qZewtXYwDMMB
I had a car with a leaky radiator. I would fill it up with water in the morning and drive to work. If I didn’t it would start overheating. I don’t remember filling it again on the way back. Put up with that for weeks. I think I only got it fixed because the weather warmed up and it was no longer sufficient to cool it. Or maybe it was the same problem as the heating not working and after a few weeks of wearing multiple layers and getting absolutely frozen I finally got it fixed. They may have been two separate issues/occasions, this was around 2003.
Thanks, I’ve responded!
I see from the edit this wasn’t the intention 🙂
But I’m here now, so my obscure-ish ones !lemmings@lemmings.world !plus4@retrolemmy.com and !teletext@fedia.io I’d like to see more active particularly.
!raining@sh.itjust.works - used to be fairly active but has been mostly dead for months.
(hmm, should I promote my own communities here?)
An Acetronic MPU1000 games console, from the 1970s - 76 or 78 I think. Still worked last time I powered it up, I also got some extra games cheap off eBay a while back, interesting playing something other than the three or four games I remember from childhood.
Thanks! I cross posted it from another community and it didn’t have a source cited.
Big box games with proper manuals.
Not mentioned yet, but !artshare@lemmy.world is a good place to share art specifically.
This is mine but there’s not an equivalent on Lemmy (my other communities I ended up moving over for various reasons): !teletext@fedia.io
Yeah, there’s a bug where things get back to the original magazine but don’t federate back out to other instances until they are interacted with on the original instance. So if you post to a Kbin magazine nobody sees it, until somebody with an account on the original magazine’s instance upvotes it. I raised it on the Kbin issue tracker but nobody seemed to believe me even though I’d proved this was the problem.
I was going to put Bedfordshire in brackets next to that, but I forgot. I knew it could cause confusion!
