I’m not the person who asked, but still thanks for the information. I might give this a try soon.
Fascinating bit of history, thanks!
It’s interesting to hear the steps taken to achieve their goals, but I was more curious about why those are their goals in the first place. Why does the govt. want to force a language on the people when they obviously prefer a different language?
Their friends help in a way, because they also speak French in class but English outside (and Quebec’s government hates that).
I’m not familiar with how the Quebec government works so that sentence made me curious. Why does the govt. hate that?
Go to the country. Eat a lot of peaches.
There is one here too!
Peacocks. Where I live (central California) there is a local park that has a flock of wild peacocks. I had a friend visiting from Korea and he was so excited to see them.
Wild turkeys can be very aggressive.

Agreed, but there have been big projects that have been open source. I can imagine* an AI (LLM) being developed fully FOSS. It would be rare, but I can see it happening if a big foundation got behind it. Maybe Mozilla, or another that tries to keep the spirit of their mission statement.
*Imagine: I’m not too familar with all of the current, public, and free models out there, just a few. This was just me making a hopeful guess about if it might be actually happening now.
