It is really frustrating because the spoiler tags are kind of client dependent I think. I just use the spoiler tag formatting button in Sync, but I know there is some fuckery where it doesn’t work everywhere, or another client uses a different tag.

I did my first playthrough as Karlach and romanced Gale for shiggles. After he abandoned her at the end. >!You know. Her last night alive before burning to death.!< Yeah. You can bet I left his ass in the portal the next time.
Sorry, didn’t make it home until today and not sure if you get notifications on edits. You will need a monitor and keyboard hooked up to your server as you will not have ssh access until the network config is “fixed”. I would do the below with the GPU removed, so you know 100% that your networking config is correct before mucking about further.
Add a /etc/systemd/network/99-default.link
with the below contents.
# SPDX-License-Identifier: MIT-0
#
# This config file is installed as part of systemd.
# It may be freely copied and edited (following the MIT No Attribution license).
#
# To make local modifications, one of the following methods may be used:
# 1. add a drop-in file that extends this file by creating the
# /etc/systemd/network/99-default.link.d/ directory and creating a
# new .conf file there.
# 2. copy this file into /etc/systemd/network or one of the other paths checked
# by systemd-udevd and edit it there.
# This file should not be edited in place, because it'll be overwritten on upgrades.
[Match]
OriginalName=*
[Link]
NamePolicy=mac
MACAddressPolicy=persistent
I forget if you have to reboot, but I am going to assume so. At this point, you can get the new name of your nic card and fix your network config.
ip link
should list all of your nic devices, both real and virtual. Here is how mine looks like for reference, with the MAC obfuscated:1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000
link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
2: enxAABBCCDDEEFF: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc mq master vmbr0 state UP mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000
link/ether AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
3: vmbr0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc noqueue state UP mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000
link/ether AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
You will need to edit your /etc/network/interfaces
file so the correct card is used.
/etc/network/interfaces
, just in case you mess something up.sudo vim /etc/network/interfaces
(or whatever text editor makes you happy)
It will need to look something like below. I have to have DHCP turned on for mine, so your config likely uses static. Really all you need to do is change wherever it says enp yada yada to the enxAABBCCDDEEFF
you identified above. source /etc/network/interfaces.d/*
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
iface enxAABBCCDDEEFF inet manual
auto vmbr0
iface vmbr0 inet dhcp
#iface vmbr0 inet static
#address 192.168.5.100/20
#gateway 192.168.0.1
bridge-ports enxAABBCCDDEEFF
bridge-stp off
bridge-fd 0
sudo systemctl restart networking.service
Hopefully at this point you have nework access again. Check the below, do some ping tests, and if it doesn’t work, double check that you edited the interfaces file correctly.
sudo systemctl status networking.service
will show you if anything went wrong and hopefully show that everything is working correctlyip -br addr show
should show that the interface is up now.lo UNKNOWN 127.0.0.1/8 ::1/128
enxAABBCCDDEEFF UP
vmbr0 UP 192.168.5.100/20
At this point, if all is well, I would reboot anyways, just to make sure. If you add any GPUs, sata drives, other PCI device, disable/enable wifi/bt in the BIOS, or anything else that changes the PCI numbering, you don’t have to worry about your NIC changing.
I am not at home, but what I did was change the 99-default.link file. I found this from the two pages below. https://wiki.debian.org/NetworkInterfaceNames#CUSTOM_SCHEMES_USING_.LINK_FILES https://wiki.debian.org/NetworkInterfaceNames
Basically, by doing this, your nic cards will be forcibly named using the mac address:
#/etc/systemd/network/99-default.link
[Match]
OriginalName=*
[Link]
NamePolicy=mac
MACAddressPolicy=persistent
Afterwards, you will need to reboot and then update your network config file to use the correct names. I don’t ever change the network config with the GUI in proxmox as it has wrecked it too many times. I will update this reply again later with some more information on what to do.
Hey, you ok? I am not ok today, but I definitely don’t want to fill my skull with bullets. Go wash your sheets/bedding. For whatever reason, clean sheets are the best.
I changed my settings to name nic cards by mac address instead of the enumeration as I got sick of the name changing when I would add/remove pci devices.
Mine did that too recently! It really freaked me out as I normally share my contact card and tell them to send me theirs after, but I immediately got all of their information as soon as I texted them. I have a Pixel 6 Pro.
Ok. I tried Firefox for about a month on my Android phone and Mac, but unfortunately had to go back to Chrome on both. I don’t really know what to do at this point. I run enough firewalls and ad blockers that using Chrome has never particularly bothered me from a usability standpoint, but I get the point everyone is trying to make. However, I also don’t want to spend weeks of my life fighting to get yet another open source program to work the same as the “other” program, or find some substitute that I can live with.
I used to use Firefox when I was a kid and loved all of the extensions. However, it seems severely lacking now. I tried to find something to give me group tabs, and found old abandoned projects or some tree thing that made 0 sense to me. I saw an article I think explaining that it is coming? I don’t understand why a feature like this is missing when it used to exist a long time ago. Seems like basic functionality to me. Also, why is the tab bar so big? It takes up a lot of screen real estate.
The thing that killed it for me was the lack of PWA support, which is how I have used Outlook for around 6+ years. I fought with the extension for a while and things sort of worked on and off for a few days here or there, but half the time it would open emails in the main browser anyway. Once it got to the point where Outlook was completely blank and refused to load at all, I gave up. I could never get it to work again. I hoped I could maybe setup the PWA to just be in Chrome or Safari, but it just opens it as a tab in Firefox anyway. I tried, but I am not going to spend hours fighting with it anymore at this point and it would be nice if it was built into the browser instead of a random extension.
It was a better experience on the phone, and I like the bar on the bottom, until I realized it was draining my battery. I found a thread of users complaining about it for the last few months with no fix. I don’t even use the sync feature, but that supposedly is the culprit? Phone kept dying and I barely used it. Looked at the battery usage screen and there it was, almost the top item. I would love to use Firefox on Android, but not at the expense of my battery. Sorry.
I will happily defend you on this point. Down vote away people. As long as you don’t shove past the rows in front of you or bonk me with luggage, we good. I try to remember the passengers who had to store luggage father back and see if I can get it passed forward. I will totally boss people to sit back down if someone needs to get to the front ASAP due to close connections. If it is going to be a while, I will try to grab my backpack and sit back down.
Now, people with oversized rollerboards? Yeah. I get pretty irritated over that and the vast number of issues that causes with boarding and deplaning. The airlines make it worse with price hikes. I personally check all of my luggage and rarely run into issues. If I have any major concerns I will throw a couple things into a bag that will fit under my seat or FedEx it if we are really going there.
That blows. Hopefully your nerves don’t get too inflamed or it is in a spot that is easier to ice for a short period. I hate icing anything, but it was between that and continuing to scream bloody murder and cry in my car in the office parking lot. Only needed maybe 10 minutes and it was thankfully my hand/arm.
The first study I did they poked around the back of my neck and shoulders. I am sure you and everyone else is cringing right now. They put me in the fetal position and told me to be very very still… It worked out.
Have a gummy, vape a bowl, and keep your spirits up the best you can. Maybe do some art. Adult coloring books are the shit if you never thought about that.
As someone who has had a multitude of health problems, I am so glad that you are getting help. I have EoE, which really sucks, but I can’t imagine not eating at all. I had a condition finally diagnosed a couple months ago after years of being told nothing was wrong with me, which is better than being told it is probably in my head. I have chronic pain too, but it is “manageable”. Short version is I lost the genetic lottery, but I keep trucking along.
Also, lamotrigine gang stand up!
Definitely try Soylent (powder) as you can thin it out as much as you need to. I haven’t had the premade versions in forever, so I don’t remember. Worth a shot.
As far as traveling goes, try to find a coffee shop or something to chill at for a few hours, though the smell may be too much now that I think of it. That really blows that the Internet is awful there and I have had to resort to tethering in the past. I have Google Fi, so tethering is dead simple and just works, but yada yada Google is evil. Once upon a time you could only make WiFi hotspots on your phone if the actual WiFi is turned off, but I don’t know shit about iPhones.
Sorry about the nerve study, but make sure you ice afterwards. The pain doesn’t always set in right away. Had a rather agonizing drive home once…Make sure to speak up if it hurts a lot, or just feels…wrong. Ask for breaks if you need it. Nerve pain is something else.
Though UR is a pretty big medical system and school. Being known for Garbage Plates though is pretty funny.
I think most other comments cover the important bits, so I will try not to repeat them. I have been using a M1 MacBook Air since they came out and I love it. The battery life is great, the desktop environment is very clean and unobtrusive, and I don’t have to fight with it very often. I use brew to install my FOSS stuff. I certainly don’t pay for anything extra. Only major complaint is the way they do the windowing. Don’t know the right word for it. Maximize, minimize, “alt-tab”, and snapping to half/quarter/etc like Windows isn’t great in comparison and pretty lacking. Thankfully there are 3rd party applications such as Rectangle and AltTab that make it better. I haven’t used Stage Manager as it doesn’t fit my workflow.
The only other OSs I use at home are Debian and Arch. Those cover any additional gaming I might want to do, but they are primarily servers. I use GeForce Now for everything else.
I tried a W11 on a VM and I cannot describe the amount of hatred I have for it. I feel like I am fighting with the OS at every turn. I don’t really have a problem with W10 from a generic user experience, other than that advertising BS they keep trying to sneak in.
You are completely right. I got so used to Reddit being thousands of misogynistic, vile, ridiculous comments at every turn, yet in haven’t even thought about it until now. I haven’t seen a lot of that here. I haven’t been harassed at all or terrified to make a comment in fear of the hive mind making me wish I hadn’t been born. Thank you lemmings for being better humans.
I wish I had the time today, but they made breakfast and lunch for all of the women in the office and had some fancy chat thing.
Happy Women’s Day. Go to the spa. Take a long bath. Demand massages and cuddles. Something.
This is so damn wholesome. Thank you fellow humans for helping this person and even offering to pay. Why I am cutting onions this early in the day is a mystery.
I started 30 minute backups earlier. It updates from the yuzu repo and downloads all of the releases from yuzu-mainline if there are new ones. Anything else I should also backup?
I wouldn’t have a clue where to put this stuff on the interwebs, but if shit happens, I will be 1 of many backups I guess.
A little smaller as it is a little “tall”, but I otherwise love this thing. The uneven back (or something else?) makes it difficult to consistently work with the wireless charging pad in the car.
I am still loving my Pixel 6 Pro. Other than installing AdGuard, or just change your DNS, I pretty much use it as is. I turned off all the Google home or whatever that thing was to the left. Take a minute and go through your installed apps and turn off notifications for things you don’t want or just uninstall. I don’t think you could ever convince me to buy a Samsung again.
My only gripe is the size and how the camera sticks out. The battery life is great, I have plenty of space locally, and I can wirelessly charge my earbuds with it if I want.
What is even more painful is seeing friends glued to TikTok on their phones all day when they have STEM degrees. I didn’t grow up in a typical household, so I have a hard time relating to other women, but I don’t get it either. Do your friends with kids seem to be this way more than those without?
There are other endings you can get for her. Everything will be ok. Karlach is the best flaming teddy bear ever.
