I’m a former sysadmin (10 years) with 1 year spent working as cellphone repair prior to that. I could bang out batteries all day long for replacing. It’s not rocket science.
Save your money. $10 doesn’t even cover my morning coffee.

As a former sysadmin and MDM specialist I stay(ed) loyal to Apple because MDM quickly makes you realize what a cluster android is. Some phones allow for certain lockdowns in one profile while other Android OS’ wouldn’t be able to recognize it. Knox was attempting to do something akin to iOS for MDM, but even still it was missing a ton of features.
You know you can replace the battery, right? Like, 10 minutes with some basic repair knowledge and you can have it done. I usually do a battery replacement on my iPhone ever 2 years just because it will inevitably slow down and the battery life becomes unusable.
Good news, it’s surrounded by water! Bad news, it’s surrounded by water. 😡
That’s quitter talk. Give the machine more gas for the ass (chair). The chair only needs to be stable for a while anyways. It’s here for a good time, not a long time.
Even at 2500 that’s insanely cheap. You could print a brand new toilet when yours breaks. You could create furniture for guests custom fitted to their unique ass right as they enjoy a party. It’s beautiful
Damn, opinions changing and evolving? Crazy… a whole country that isn’t constantly doing or believing the same thing? Insanity.
Also, we’re hopefully voting on Ukraine aid right after Easter…. I see Ukraine flags and “pray for Ukraine” stickers everywhere still.
We have 1 US military base in Israel (officially) and 5 in Saudi Arabia. With Jordan, Qatar, the UAE and Kuwait also housing personnel and bases/posts. (Officially and unofficially). There’s a lot more to Israel than just the US supporting them for our hegemony and if they weren’t being helped by us it wouldn’t exactly be a major loss anymore. Allegedly the nuclear capability they posses is due to us supplying them with it.
People act like Israel is our only ally in the region but outside of Shia Islamic heavy countries we have a number of Muslim/Islamic majority ally’s. Maybe not “friends” per se, but definitely have been part of our coalition forces before, and heavily trade with us and consume our culture.
Ukraine has a shit load of old Soviet era stuff. Of course they need supplies around that. They also keep asking for more F-16s and ammo for our weapons platforms we gave them. What does Ukraine and the weapons they use have to do with Israel?
Israel uses NATO standards for basically everything and the iron dome is effectively patriots. That’s all western tech with western specs. Russia and China would have to either create whole new missiles and calibers to fit, or they would have to buy older or brand new weapons systems and platforms which would take a decade plus to switch to.
Congrats on finding out how diplomacy works. Diplomacy isn’t a unit of measurement nor is it a spec. Which is what all those NATO spec weapons are that currently Israel is using.
Dumbest Lemmy user.
All those weapons that Israel has are western weapons. Meaning that Israel would have to buy new artillery, aircraft and mechanized units in order to use Russian/Chinese calibers and Launch Systems. Not to mention that politically Russia and China don’t remotely align with Israel and actively campaign and work against them. Nuance, like the other user said, would help you, but so would being quiet.
She wasn’t bi, she was buy. As in “you could buy me.” which we often found her happily being bought.
Most government employees don’t live in DC specifically. The government is also FULL of Republicans. However they’re “classical” Republicans for the most part. Also, a surprising number of those republicans think the government is inefficient and lazy, but they are also the laziest and most inefficient of all employees.
The biggest thing here is the impact to education. Being in EdTechbive lost a lot of respect for Google as they’ve mercilessly killed valuable projects that we have all been happy to pay for, but they quickly drop it like an uninterested child with a new toy.
Supervised mode gives you basically all the cool options post IOS 12. That said, it’s been about 4 years since I’ve done any of that registration stuff and I know it changed a lot during the pandemic. So it could be easier now.
Configurator if you have a MacOS device already and want the OG. Plus it does allow for device supervision. Although you may have to register as an enterprise system for that. That’s really going to be the key thing here as last time I recall signing my org up for MDM we had to provide tax documents.
Apple uses JAMF, and their prices are so low and it’s so easy that for strictly Apple devices I’d go that route. I do believe there is an on prem version of Jamf as well, but you still pay yearly for it.
There’s also Hexcloud, whatever VMware is calling there’s now, and technically sccm can do device MDM.
Main benefits come from supervised mode. On iPads you can enable multi user support with sign in. You can remove access to messaging or other apps, but beyond that the differences between MDM and parental locks aren’t as wide.
Honestly that would make texting people on Android from an iPhone so much fun.
If they wanted it to have a dark pattern they should make the text slightly blurry or move one pixel back and forth to annoy us and the text tone is the sound of someone throwing up and is un-mutable so you’re forced to either listen to it at full volume or block them (ideal??).
It’s basically the dot com bubble all over again. These companies survived for years off free money and venture capitalists with seemingly endless pockets due to low interest rates. Now that rates are up the money is dry. Now that investors don’t have free money they want to see a return. Since these companies never could be profitable they’re now collapsing under their own weight.
As for who was wanting to shut it down… basically any government agency dealing in child abductions, any mom group, “family” organization, incels/people mad at others for just being social. Just my guess.
Based on how you skimmed my comment I’m going to assume you weren’t going to read a CV very well anyways.
There are some things I’m good at, and some things that I might be decent at, but would take me longer than a 99 cent download. 😅 it wasn’t worth my time after that.
Are we getting back to the OG Android dessert names?
