Cooked to medium rare. Juicy. Toasted bun. Lettuce, tomato, cheese, and maybe even a fried egg.
An overcooked, dry burger is just not edible for me.

Already off to a better start than last week. Last week my 1 year old tested positive for Covid. My wife and I both got it, but had to suffer through while parenting. By the time the three of us recovered, my 3 year old ended up getting it. Seems we’re all finally healthy again to start off this week.

Not bad so far. I’m going out of town for the weekend for a bachelor party. As Detective Roger Murtaugh said, though, I’m too old for this shit.

My toddler controls what we listen to in the car. So, I’ve listened to “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid a lot, recently.

I have a kid’s birthday party to attend. That’s about it.

My two kids are here. So I guess I don’t have full brain shutdown. But, I’m not working. So I’ll take it.

I live near the beach too, actually. This vacation is only about 5 hours away from where I live. But, without work I have some time to enjoy the sand and a drink in my hand.

Happy cake day! Didn’t even realize I missed mine by two days. Oops!
Time flies when you’re having fun.

I have been counting down the days to my weeklong vacation. And we’ve almost arrived! Tomorrow is my last day of work before taking a very much needed break.

You may have seen me talk about my upcoming vacation here and there. All I can say is that vacation is now two weeks away, and I desperately need it.

I’ve been a little under the weather the past couple days. Today will be a work from home day as I try to just push through to a 3-day weekend.

That accurately describes me. I have two kids. My older one will be 3 at the end of the month.

Great! I’m not much of a poet, but I can imagine it’s a great creative outlet.

I also feel that my brain has been uncooperative as of late. But I blame that mostly on lack of sleep, stress, and burnout.

For sure. Responding is the natural thing to do. But, for me at least, I end up reading every response and deciding if I’m safe to just remove the first reported comment, or every child comment, or a mix.
Maybe some mods just delete the parent comment and all children to keep it simple, but I try to weigh each response fairly.

You’re probably better off not interacting with the content that you’re reporting.
I’ll second this. Responding to the problematic content usually just leads to a lot more problematic content that the mods need to sort through.

Yeah, I think I even suggested that awhile back on one of those communities. It might be worth me reaching out to each of the mods to try and coordinate that.

Congrats! There’s a bunch of dad-based communities on Lemmy. None are as active as this community, unfortunately, but definitely join some of them and reach out if you need any advice from other dads!
Edit:
My wife and I have been trying to watch Rings of Power after the kids go to sleep. But we haven’t gotten too far yet.
