Once I got so used to all my custom keybinds in neovim, it became hard to use anything else.

I’m used to tools like Harpoon for fast jumping around “bookmarked” spots in my code, once i started using the same technique for my writing it’s like something clicked for me, I was like “holy shit I can arbitrarily jump to spots so fast now…”

I use neovim a lot for coding.

Over time though I discovered it had tonnes of amazing features as a prose editor too, so many powerful plugins for editing prose that blew me away.

Stuff like “warn me if I use tthe same word too much” and whatnot.

And of course telescopes fuzzy find made jumping around to edit my text way faster, and being able to bulk change stuff with a simple :%s/.../.../g feels real good.

I highly recommend folks try out nvim for this use case :3

Can… you not upgrade your current work machine to win11?

Just tell them that you’ll send them back the laptop for the upgrade if you have to, or IT can do it remotely, but you dont have another PC to use, that’s why you had one issued.

They only way I would use my personal PC is if I am VPN+RDPing into a work machine, and that’s it. I’ve done that many times before, as that’s secure and doesn’t have any work resources on your oc itself, you’re just remotely connecting to your actual work PC over a secure vpn.

That’s the only scenario that I use my personal PC for work.

I’ve been looking for th8s for awhile too.

Not a locally run tool, but a self hosted web app (that I wire up to my self hosted db) that has a web portal I login to, and then can manage my db with a nice slick UI to define tables, relations, etc.

There’s been some I’ve found but they vastly lacked basic features and were clearly in very early beta.

I use Hugo, it’s not super complicated.

You basically just define templates in pseudo html for common content (header, nav panel, footer, etc), and then you write your articles in markdown and Hugo combines the two and outputs actual html files.

You also have a content folder for js, css, and images which get output as is.

That’s about all there is to it, it’s a pretty minimalist static site generator.

Hosting wise you can just put it on github pages for free.

Architecture as code is amazing, being able to completely wipe your server, re-install fresh, and turn it on and it goes right back to how it was is awesome.

GitOps version controlled architecture is easy to maintain, easy to rollback, and easy to modify.

I use k8s for my entire homelab, it has some initial learning curve but once you “get it” and have working configs on github, it becomes so trivial to add more stuff to it, scale it up, etc.

All the electronics inside are very much capable of combustion.

Your power supply inside the printer body for example can very much fail and burst into flames.

And tbh it’s not that uncommon for that to happen with 3d printers. They’re often made with very cheap parts and prone to cheap work on the inside bits.

Add on how much of a high wattage load they meed to handle for extended periods of time and yeah, sometimes the inner wiring bursts into flames and the whole thing goes up.

I always recommend keeping a cheap lil smoke alarm directly overhead any 3d printer, seriously. Those fuckers can very much spontaneously burst into flames lol

None of this stops the risk of fire.

Once a fire starts, the printer turning off won’t magically stop the fire from continuing to grow.

Printers can fail in all manner of ways.

Also, you should have a venting solution of printing ASA.

It’s pretty cheap to get a proper fire resistant heat cover for a printer.

Just get an emergency “space blanket”, they’re often only a couple bucks and quite good, but very fire resistant.

The fact that they prioritized Helluva Boss (which does follow that type of storyline), on their own YouTube (which they have control over), whereas Hazbin was put onto Amazon Prime with only 8 episodes honestly is what I think caused it.

My gut instinct was to assume they had to agree to certain conditions to get onto Amazon Prime and the money from that is what got us Helluva Boss (which if you haven’t watched that, it’s so fuckin good)

It’s a musical, the songs are catchy.

However I disliked how fast paced the writing was, and how even though it’s called “Hazbin Hotel” and the pilot framed it as a sort of slice of life “bunch weirdos” hanging out and getting redemption, instead that weirdly became the B plot?

Somehow they took the whole story and shifted it over to the B plot and pulled this other big high stakes thing out as the A plot.

That’s not really what I was wanting to watch, and it feels a bit like they hit swapped out the story on me, so I kinda got a bit turned off by that.

I don’t give a shit about some high stakes angels vs demons war end game shit.

I wanted to see interpersonal relationships of weirdos learning to co-exist.

Tl;dr: I was expecting something closer to The Good Place, but instead that got side lined by some huge MCU style plot no one asked for.

Sometimes its a physical issue in your setup.

Double check your cable, double check the carriage, and double check the rails, look for potential obstructions.

I had one print that kept failing in the exact same place each time, couldn’t figure it out, then I watched it live and the dang ribbon itself was physically catching on a specific part of the geometry mid print and then the print would twist a bit, lol.

Something to consider, I’d recommend visually watching that specific layer when it’s coming up to see if you see something happen.

I use neorg for neovim, specifically I use:Neorg journal today to open up a daily .Norge file that I maintain notes, todo, etc on.

If I need to leave a note for myself for the future, I create a note for that day ahead of time.

There aren’t standardized screens for smartphones, as the inside of the screens typically has a bespoke aluminum chassis they are adhered to as part of their construction.

And since every single phone model has different insides, every screen is bespoke to its model.

You have to look on ebay for your phones screen model.

If you look for ones with a couple dead pixels they are pretty affordable though.

Anecdotal warning: From my experience going tk a gandful of schools in western canada… inner city schools bias towards women dimishes due to higher risk conditions. The gender ratio shifts as you go from nicer well funded schools to inner city poorer neighborhoods.

The higher risk schools tend to have way more men teaching as well as male cops walking around, whereas the gentrified safer schools tend to be women dominated.

It still leand towards women, but the lean evens out a lot more as risk/danger goes up, as well as pay.

You also see more male teachers if you go way up to far northern schools that have much harsher conditions, where governments trade to provide monetary incentives in return for roughing it up on way more secluded places.

So, nope, from what I’ve seen the pattern holds just as much in teaching.

Men work more overtime, take on more risks, and are more willing to put themselves in danger.

Men get paid more, because they are willing to pay the extra pound of flesh it demands, because they have a bit more flesh to offer. Men have higher average stamina, physical strength, and physical resilience.

I won’t necessarily say that’s a good thing, but it’s a fact. There’s a reason all the dangerous jobs are male dominated, but simultaneously men die on the job or get severely maimed substantially more.

Interestingly enough if you look at a woman dominated industry that is extremely dangerous abd demands a pound of flesh (like prostitution) suddenly the gender gap flips heavily the other way.

As I always say, you don’t see people talking about gender disparity of garbage truck drivers and other areas of the sanitation industry, even though there’s a lot of disparity over there.

Why aren’t people complaining about the lack of women in the sanitation industry? Weird, huh?

The two acts should be distinct for sure.

You should be also able to delete all history without deleting account.

Basically should be 2 distinct buttons/actions entirely.
