No, they can, they just have to accept that it isn’t supposed to be a balanced experience in the first place. It was an absolute blast in throne of Bhaal. They would need a story that actually justifies it though.

I’m fine with it being unbalanced like Throne of Bhaal was, where the only people who stood a chance against you were other children of Bhaal. That was a blast and a unique experience for a crpg with some really cool powers.
Imo it shouldn’t be balanced. But there has to be buildup in the story and ToB had two full games of it.

It’s over for beehaw already. Once they decided to ban everyone from the largest lemmy instance, it was over. They aren’t important to the fediverse, period, and never will be with their current leadership who have no idea what they actually want it to be, apart from their personal internet fiefdom.
The short amount of time I was there, it felt like a community built for the moderators and admins, not the users themselves. Frankly the fediverse is better off without them, so I hope they do leave.
People worked 12 hour shifts 6 days a week back then with no minimum wage. A lot of people lived in company towns and didn’t even get paid in real money. Child labor was legal and widespread, although some shit hole states are getting back to that.
Things are bad now but anyone who thinks it’s as bad as it was in the gilded age is either delusional or extremely ignorant. There’s a reason the progressive era happened, people were pushed beyond their limits and propaganda couldn’t make up for that anymore.

To actually answer your question, since no one else did … yes, there is one additional melee character you can get in Act 3, but he’s not the easiest character to find. It’ll be a slog to get that far without a tank.
Since you have a druid, you could try using a combo of animal form and summons to tank for you. I’ve found elemental summons are pretty durable, but won’t do as much damage as a real tank.
Otherwise yes, you could respect a party member to tank.

I’m using Liftoff which is the best one I’ve found so far, but I can’t figure out how to look up communities which is actually a huge UX issue. Also I have a hard time separating posts on the front page, the cards need a visible border or something.
I’m looking forward to boost. Already in queue to install once it comes out.
