4·4 months agothat’s it, thank you
I’m using the website with a SimpleLogin e-mail and through a VPN, for some months, without problem
I did have problems with other websites and they’re mounting. Not Vinted though
he’s pirating his stuff, he’s already a cool guy in my book
with proton, pirating shit from windoes on linux is the best!

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Are ad blockers the new scapegoat for website failures?
7·1 year agothanks for sharing that. I went to check and learnt it was used in the Mandalorian. I’m not even a fan of Star Wars, only seen the three oldies from back in the day, and didn’t even like them that much
I think this phrase is being used for longer than that movie exists, but maybe I just got it along the way
but yeah fuck disney!

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Proton is dead (for me). Let's collect and discuss alternatives! ✊🛡
522·1 year agowhy are so many people going apeshit with marketing and PR? yeah the guy seems to be a sycophant, licking boot to protect his business, while throwing out a couple of unfortunate truths
if or when Trump finally condenses the fascistic and white supremacist tendencies of the US overtly into the regime, would you expect Proton to lead the resistance? maybe Ben & Jerry’s? or some other progressive BS posturing company?
why are we talking about what Proton stands for? it is not a person with ideologies…fuck corporate personhood
people looking for “good companies” is just sad

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•How to get started with pirating music (mp3s)?English
41·2 years agothe main way i get music files (320kbps mp3) is through the Soulseek network, which many commenter have mentioned. what has been left out is the best client to get into that network, that is free and open source software, which is Nicotine+. it work on any desktop OS
torrents are still valid but you won’t find many artists there

Privacy@lemmy.ml•What is the best cheap cell phones that support Lineage OS (or your perfected Privacy rom)?
1·2 years agoyes, they do (redmi the same as other xiaomi phones) and that’s an important thing I left out.
I did create an account long ago with an alias email that i’ve used for the unlocking of several phones’ bootloader. it also requires a phone number for “verification” when you start the unlocking process, so for anonimity you’d need an unregistered burner phone number
so it does leave a trace in their books

Privacy@lemmy.ml•What is the best cheap cell phones that support Lineage OS (or your perfected Privacy rom)?
5·2 years agoin case you go for a cheap new phone, around here the best option are some Redmi ones. recently got a Redmi Note 9 and slapped LOS on it for a friend, for about 170€. since none are very recent models, sometimes I had to spend a good time searching for them in shop stocks

21·2 years agook, maybe someone else might be able to help you properly, since i’m yet to do my planned Jellyfin home setup
but it seems to me that maybe instead of running the VPN directly from you Pi, you should run it from you router, so your whole subnet is tunneled when going to the internet and inside your home you don’t need those shenanigans to connect to the Pi
if you did this, then you only need to install your mediaserver on the Pi (either Plex or Jellyfin, and although i haven’t used any yet, Jellyfin seems to be the one not currently being shitified, and the complete FOSS route) and that will probably be a much easier installation

Once I installed Debian on an old eMMC weak netbook for a friend after trying about 6 other distros that all had some problem or another, including Mint and Xubunto. Debian worked flawlessly
