The scent molecules are polar and will stick to the water molecules in the towel.

Did I miss how far we came as a society to see it take a 40 year step backwards?English2·9 months agoIdentifying might be the best word to use, given the psychology literature all tends to use that, but thank you for your critique.
s_s@lemm.eeto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why does it seem the world is all of a sudden concerned about sexual orientation? Especially America. Did I miss how far we came as a society to see it take a 40 year step backwards?English71·9 months agoWhy are people so interested in defining themselves along sexual identity and orientation in relatively recent western culture?
Why now? Why is it so different from most of human existence?
Because we are no longer facing famine. The Green Revolution has made our relationship with food so secure we no longer define ourselves in relation to it.
Throughout most of history people are farmers or ranchers or shepherds or bakers or butchers or millers.
So, we climb the Biological hierarchy of needs looking for our next characteristic that needs fulfillment.

Vim is not easy to learn nor intuitive.
It is simple and compounding.
You might not ever edit enough text to ever need to learn a new skillset to edit text. If that’s the case, use
nano
.But if you do find yourself editing a lot of text, consider trying
vimtutor
.It takes 20 minutes and you’ll be proficient enough to match
nano
’s efficiency ceiling.

Currently, as they are dying today, yes.
This is not how malls have traditionally worked.
In the past, malls provided a plug-and-play way for national chain retail to offer premium, private-labeled goods that allowed them to extract money away from a community’s locally owned stores found on main street.
s_s@lemm.eeto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•In the US, did Amazon kill the mall, is everyone too broke, or a combination of other factors?English311·11 months agoMalls were just a way to privatize mainstreet and allow the ownership class of capitalists to extract more money from a local economy through large chain stores and to give them private control over what used to be public space.
Now the middle class is worth a fraction of what it used to be, their purpose has dissolved.
People use Amazon instead of the mall because they can still afford the Temu-level garbage Amazon sells.
