What options are there really other than capitalism, communism, and everything that mixes the two?
Communism will save the environment.
They do if it gets them assaulted and their $3,500 toy stolen.
We continue to yell. Tradition is important in my family.
I am not clicking those links.
Lemmy’s not an alternative to Twitter, it’s an alternative to Reddit. It’s not even terribly great at that either because of Reddit’s sheer size.
I’d say that the vast majority of people on Twitter couldn’t care less about Elon Musk himself. However, Twitter is actually going downhill now and the only ads I see anymore are either hardcore porn or scams. That’s what’s going to drive people off Twitter.
There is literally no other realistic alternative too it; they’re simply all too small. I still follow many trusted news sources and politicians on it as well as fandoms.
I don’t think it should be an instance decision. The best part about the fediverse is that we can pick and choose what we want to see.
Why should there not be right wing subs? Would we not just be becoming like Reddit by banning them?
They aren’t for anybody in rural areas. You can’t have a train going to every single farm.
$200 a week is easily enough for a family of 4. I have no idea how you even get to this level.
Threads and Mastodon don’t have any of the people I want to follow.

Slavery most definitely is allowed by the Jewish and Christian God. Genocide is much trickier, as there is still debate about certain wording and whether or not genocide actually happened at the time. Overall, the consensus is that genocide is bad at current times either because all genocide is bad or because God does not condone current genocides.

Everything ebbs and flows, but on the wider scale of things crime is down and life expectancy is up.
I don’t have a problem on religious holidays with going out to a place run by people who don’t celebrate it. I was craving Arab food Christmas Eve which was fine because it’s just another day for them. I would never visit during their holidays as they would never go to a Christian store during ours.
Certainly. The point is that it’s mainly younger people and people transitioning between stages of their life who are suffering most from the cost of living crisis.
I think the issue is with normalizing unhealthy bodies. idc how you look as long as you’re healthy, but society is becoming increasingly accepting of obviously unhealthy lifestyles and bodies. It’s no better than anorexia.
