I’m merely responding to his post. Maybe he’s in the US?
There are plenty of alternatives to the native SMS Texting app, for Example Quik SMS - no trackers and it’s very smooth.
Also for secured messaging - there is Signal, and they are top Dog in that end.
Whatscrap is just a platform for Meta to scan your messages and make customized ads for you.
I 100 percent agree about the insecurity. Deku is on F Droid?
Yes. I have friends who solely rely on SMS. Best is when they try to send a video.
2 main features - the ability to make the texts bigger by percentage. So I was able to make the texts about 125 percent bigger. The other main feature was to have a media picker integrated into the app when sending a picture ect.
Also a bonus was having Giphy integrated as well, but I know that definitely has trackers involved.
But overall I do like Quik.
Thanks. I understand the bloated part, but personally for me, coming from Textra, it’s comparable to what I had, minus the trackers
I’m kinda new to this, so I was just wondering.
So is QUIK FOSS? Because I just installed it, I used to use Textra. I like the features of it.
If you have a SD card you are installing them on, copy them directly to the SD and then put that in the phone. Also, disconnects I feel have to do with the quality of the USB cable.
Mine too. Lol. But is there an app / service that would scan APK’s before you install?
I have this app, it just won’t go past a certain letter on my phone, so only apps a to F show up.
But in theory, isn’t there a way to remove the tracking scripts from the APK?
Is there an app that shows if there are trackers in it?
Try Textra. Many customization options, but in regards to advanced features, it’s an SMS App, although it does have the ability to undo a delete after a few seconds
I love Fulguris
He has some very valid points. Outside of what he says, it’s a challenge at times to build good conversations. Now we are all good for some laughs, but sometimes if you disagree with whatever meme was posted or whatever was posted, the minions come after you. It’s almost like you get extreme views and not honest conversations. I find this on different Fediverse applications
I honestly didn’t know there were different variations of Xperia, I bought mine through the Sony Website.
Band 14 in the US is reserved for First Responders via First Net aka AT&T, and when the other bands get overloaded then it’s given use to regular consumers - if they have band 14. From my understanding. Because there aren’t many phones that have 14 on them sold outside of AT&T from what I find, unless band 14 access is a software adjustment, but that I don’t know.
People don’t trust the government all the time, they are a bunch of sneaky buggers you know.
