I can only hope this plays out like when Trump gutted the whitehouse. They got rid of all the people who knew how the office ran and who the important points of contact were. Then they couldn’t get shit done. A lot of Trump’s biggest “accomplishments” were basically just rubber stamping shit Mitch McConnell teed up for him.
I hope the RNC gets totally gummed up this election season.
Given enough time, Trump’s yes men will eventually figure out the levers to pull, but the first 3 to 6 months are usually a cluster fuck when a something like this happens.
That’s exactly what’s going to happen. 3 to 6 months is too long in an election. They won’t be able to recover from that.
IMO, the best way to fight fascism at this stage is to accelerate the process of fascism eating itself. This is a pretty good example.
Jebus, can you imagine being a republican right now? Remember what they used to say about the Obama cult of personality. I’m just floored.
Republicans fully support fascism, so I’m sure they’re excited about it.
“We worship our candidate as a god, so clearly the Dems must do it too!”
Hey watch what you say about Obama he was amazing.
Your username almost made me throw up.
Thanks Obama.
They’re going to pull a Hillary and spend all the money for the party on the presidential race, and spend it poorly.
If Dems pull their head out their asses we could have control of the House, Senate, and Presidency again.
It’ll probably be wasted again, but there’s a good shot they’d at least pass a budget on time.
I wish I had your positivity.
They’re going to pull a Hillary and spend all the money for the party on the presidential race, and spend it poorly.
If by presidential race you mean Trump’s legal bills, then sure.
I’m curious to see if they can properly fund the convention this year. The 2016 RNC was around $65M, and by current reporting, they don’t have enough in the bank to cover the inflation on that figure. Certainly, some money must have been already spent, so it’s not like they need the entire figure right now, but they do still need a lot of it. Maybe they can get a loan and make it work, but that only drags down funding other things even more.
They’re moving efficiently with full intent of weaponizing the entire Republican party.
Watching it unfold in real time truly is boring. Intentionally. Is this how World War II started? Boring and slow.
Let’s circle back in a few months and see where this stands.
“MAGA is now in control of the Republican Party!!” Greene wrote on X
Missed opportunity if the Dems don’t share this to energize their base.
“We miss opportunities” is the Dem motto.
Buh bye, GOP. You did this to yourselves.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., celebrated news of the staffing cuts, suggesting they send a clear message about the direction of the GOP.
Ok, shithead.
Either way, I’m here for it. Gut your resources. The positive will come when campaigns suffer.
Where’s my popcorn?
This is the best summary I could come up with:
WASHINGTON (AP) — Just days after installing his new leadership team at the Republican National Committee, Donald Trump’s lieutenants are cutting dozens of staff across key departments in an aggressive move that further cements the former president’s takeover of the GOP’s political and fundraising machinery.
More than 60 people were fired in all, including senior staff in the political, data and communications departments inside the committee’s Washington headquarters.
The cuts also included staff that ran the committee’s celebrated community centers, which were focused on building relationships with minority groups in some Democratic-leaning states.
The sweeping overhaul was confirmed by multiple people with direct knowledge of the cuts who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the moves publicly.
Staffers were notified of the cuts in an email Monday afternoon from the committee’s new chief operating officer, Sean Cairncross, who offered people an opportunity to reapply for their jobs.
“Chairman Whatley is in the process of evaluating the organization and staff to ensure the building is aligned with his vision of how to win in November,” Cairncross wrote in the email.
